To add on to this (I believe MBX brought it up) - MJOLNIR ! .. Stack Mana - Stack Rage - Use Archmage now that it doesnt require u to spend the Mana to get the benefit. There really seems to be some avenues which this could go towards. The only real problem i see .. Travel cost to the upper part of the tree.

If you want to use a Psychotic axe, you can get a shaper one, essence for spell crit or cast speed until you hit crit multiplier. You want an open suffix and clean prefixes. Then When you have just 2 suffixes, cannot roll attack mods and exalt 3 times. Gives you 2 phys as extra and elemental penetration, then craft on your last mod. (only a small chance of hitting +1 socketed gems which is a dead mod, but can be annuled off easily)

With rage being good for spells means its even better for attacks. Going berserker with redblade banner and battlemage cry you can more than double the benefits from rage. So a berserker with this set up get 6,6 times the benefits from rage, but looses the attack speed. Interesting trade off

I think people have forgotten about soulrend of the spiral, the raw mana cost of that skill is so high that it can easily reach 200 mana cost without any issues. That should keep your rage up while you berserk through the map with your homing missiles going everywhere. The problem is getting enough mana sustain.

Opportunity cost of the helmet slot is somewhat steep for many build archetypes. It is a large source of phys taken as other, and it is also a good source of maximum power charges. Finally, and more generically, I just want to point out that this helmet has no life, res, or spell suppression on it, and the lack of evasion further precludes you from using the spell suppression mastery. The lack of life is a bummer but can be worked around. It seems that this helmet fits best into a build that has good inherent physical damage mitigation (non shifted) which is either unconcerned with a lack of spell suppression or has excessive access to spell suppression. I think that Jugg will like this. Good phys mitigation, can get away with low life total, and doesn’t NEED spell suppression because of armor applying to ele. It goes without mentioning, but because of the mana synergy here, I’ll say it: you can’t use indigon with this helmet.

Unironically considering an Archmage Zerker with this, but it may even be possible to do an Unholy Might (or any phys to ele conversion skill) crit spell build, since Flawless Savagery doesn't specify attacks for any of it's mods. EDIT: Also considering the meme of using this with poison spells or even impale, or, of course, just filling the screen with as many projectiles as possible do to obscene cast speed.

Don't forget kaoms primacy as a really cheap starter option. I can imagine a blade vortex berserker that switches to penance brand, ek/tornado, or a bunch of other things. There are those gloves too - hands of the fervent. I can imagine you use the eternal youth thing to deal with both degens. Get your mana cost high, and then scale crit. If you use spellblade support with a nicely crafted psychotic axe then you just get your cast speed from rage, and you get your additional base physical damage from sacrificial zeal, I imagine there is enough to get offense going. Berserker gets some increased physical damage, increased crit, the big damage modifier, and then rage. It's interesting to say the least. Then you can steal all those cool defensive things from juggernaut or chieftain

Used to do this a lot on my berserker, you could go up to 125 rage, though with the conqueror gem being removed that's a little less, even using the rigwald's command for the bleed multi per rage, can see this working nicely for exsanguinate unless the gem doesn't function with bleed tags. Can't remember, never used it.. but I might this league.

I think the idea of doing a spell caster with this unique is a bait. This is best for mana stacking attack builds. The rage generation is the only line on the item that is actually overtuned here, it's much stronger than Kaom's Spirit was pre nerf. You just have to use some kind of Wand attack or BMC to convert the damage back to attack damage with a strong multiplier. Arcane Cloak and some automation shennanigans should be enough to sustain Berserk for an extremely long time, but you could also use a 3 link on BMC with a spell and archmage on a melee build. I think a manastacking lightning strike inquisitor would do quite well with this build.

i'd like to make a build using ravenous passion on flame dash of return,with the dissolution f the flesh mechanics with eternal youth and some other stuff about life and having rathpith globe beside.i'd also use the cast when stunned mechanic with stun threshold based on es,with no es,to cast some things each time i'm actually at the end of a part of the dash (and being hit) to cast,surely flame wall and wave of conviction.i'll surely follow your advice to have maximum rage too

Yeah I jumped at this when I saw the item in the announcement as well, seems really fun! I didn't even consider the berserker option tho, I was just considering trying the new archmage support with mana stacking and building in this for rage gen on top of it. That might turn out very poorly, I will be building this later on in SSF, but it sounds very fun to be a zoomy caster with rage gen :D

so the berserk gem actually gives spell damage and cast speed too with the ravenous passion helmet?the way it's worded it would still give attack buffs since it's removing the rages to give a buff,and not being consuming rage in a way the rage calculation is still used for the buff.if so using berserk on a spell caster only would still be detrimental on the damage output,and only the reduce damage taken would be good

No the helmet doesn't change the berserk buff at all, just a good defensive mechanic if needed

@@dreamcore_gg that's what i thought, well since using the ravenous passion helmet can provide such a reliable source of rage if you have the ability to spam an expensive enough spell, that would be totally worth it to have berserk just for the reduced damage. I'm currently thinking of a build focusing on flame dash of return using the ravenous passion and rathpith globe, and that might end up as something really interesting and fun

Fire reap berserker? redblade banner and warcry will give you max rage and that helmet will make reap damage insane? 50rage base + 10 ascedancy + 10 passive tree + 20 belt and +20 from weapon. So total 110 rage and u dont have to spend any mana to gain that rage.

This helm will allow you to have 100% uptime on Berserk even on a melee build. You could just use Automaton with an Archmage supported Ball Lightning of Static skill to proc the 15 rage gained every 1.5 seconds.

I feel like archmage would just be the obvious choice for this item, no need to go berserker. You will spend a lot of mana basically maxing out your rage instantly, that enables you to have a lot of uptime on berserk, which is a lot of movement speed and 19% less damage taken. Maybe helmet is a very important slot for casters so it might not be worth it but I can see some niche cases for it.

Actually hard to say if this will be one of Uber Eater's rarer drops, as we don't yet know which items are in that pool. Assuming Gluttonous Tide and Inextricable Fate are in the standard Eater drop pool, I'd guess Melding or Ashes will also be in the standard boss pool and the other will go into the uber pool. Of those items in the uber pool (let's say it's Nimis, Melding and Ravenous Passion, I can't really see RP being rarer than the other two, but we'll see.

Only real way I see this played is on life stacking berserker, as I don't see another way to solve the downsides of Rite of Ruin as a caster without leech. Rathpith will give you the other part of %inc and solve crit, Kaom's spirit generates rage as you want to be blood magic. You're in the right area of the tree to stack life and the archetype is tanky enough for the playstyle.

The new uber gear looks good except for wraithlord, it's still bad, just not as bad, definately not uber gear though, ragemage seems interesting but I kinda like the budget mageblood they brought out, more flask charge gen is basically all you needed anyway on auto flasks. No, just... no. It is a very weak item in terms of bonuses from Rage it provides, it's not an item for stacking Rage. What it can do is allow you activate Berserk, getting speed and damage mitigation. It will help to reach exact breakpoints on CoC build without screwing up timings due to variable IAS bonuses from Rage.
