This Nigerian Billionaire Spends His Day Building Homes for Nigerians is another episode of my promoting Africa Series where I feature black entrepreneurs all across Africa who have built successful businesses and they tell us how they did it.
Today I’m gonna be sharing with you the story of Dr. Kennedy Okonkwo who is a Nigerian real estate billionaire who has built a successful Real Estate Development Business in Nigeria all from nothing. I came across him in 2018 when he was the cover of Forbes Africa and since then I have been wondering when I will have the opportunity to sit down with this great mind. Today I finally got that opportunity and his story is really inspiring so definitely watch this to the end.

This man is the type of developer we need in Ghana..I think the developments of Nigeria is his priority not the profit…here in Accra Ghana when you hear real estate it’s a boxy structure with no garage or a livable backyard with a million dollar price tag …I really appreciate that he thinks about the millennials🤲🏽🤲🏽

Being of age and how to manage the sequence of returns in those early periods is what seems quite scary in the current market. The market is never a loser in a twenty year cycle, but the 2000s decade scenario scares me and could really disrupt my retirement. When you are no longer accumulating but withdrawing its hard to be anything but cautious.

I have two friends already investing with her so I decided to give it a head start. I'm glad I did. Great part II. Speaking of waking up early, I live in Washington, DC, but work in Falls Church, VA, right outside of Arlington, VA which is minutes from DC. I my start time is 5am until 1:30pm, but got up at 3am, leave home around 3:30am to get to work extra early, little after 4am to relax before work day starts. Now, since pandemic, teleworking and really, getting out of bed after 4am. But I've always been an "early bird." 🐦

Always good to start early. Personally, I accomplish a lot if I start early, which is never easy for me, though. However, productivity depends on job availability. As we’re not all entrepreneurs and self employed, if you are unemployed, it doesn’t really matter whatever time you wake up.

@@AdaUnleashed Patronizing Nigerian-Made tiles is good but nothing compared to what Nigeria loses in this real-estate business model. Here's the brief of how it works : land is put up by the government, developers bid for the project which is often funded by invisible foreign entities who will own the land indefinitely. They never tell you that part as long as the local developer makes their own money then everyone is happy. Nigeria's real estate market is the most unprotected of any high population country

I am confused!! The mantra about Nigeria is that there is a housing deficit of about 17 million houses! And I can swear that building or establishing housings estates is like hot cake business! From Lagos, Abuja, to Port Harcourt and Enugu, people are building houses and homes, and it has been the case for the last decade! So can someone please do the sums and answer just how much is our housing deficit now?? With all these buildings going up everywhere, surely it still can’t be at 17 million?? 🤷🏾‍♂️ A beg oh!

You better be humble when you are funded with resources by king makers. It is a concern when most people in Nigeria have settled for a sting in marksmanship that has overshadowed true creativity and talent. Otedola, Adenuga, V. Stay hungry, stay foolish! To anyone reading this just know you are loved and there are more than enough reasons to stay alive, the earth is over a billion years old and there are experiences, places, and people that you never thought of that will bring you joy that you have yet to experience! isn't that amazing?
