This Ohio River lock was loaded with fish (June Catfishing)

catfishing the Ohio river below this lock and dam was a key place to suspend baits for some good fish in the month of June, it can be a tough time to fish the river due to catfish spawning but the dam can usually produce all year no matter the conditions.

Probably Ghent or veyvey boat ramps just down stream they are free and have good ramps and parking other than that you would have to put in above the dam at Craig’s creek and lock through

@@petersplat6164 drop the bait to the bottom and reel it up until it is 2 or 3 feet off the bottom and sit the rod in the holder instead of casting out, this can save you from getting snagged when there is a lot of debris where your fishing

Spot lock only you will get an anchor snagged and it is not safe

Sending love which is why I'm saying -- limit what you eat out of the Ohio. Stay as small & low on the food chain as you can. Trim off any fat. Saying just cuz it is on my heart to do so. These are the realities of that river which I love.
