Helpful tips for beans: 1) Soak approx 12hours for optimum softness 2) put a teaspoon of baking soda in when you cook the and it will make them the most tender they can be 3) I literally bought an instapot for my bean making (I’m vegetarian so this is often) and I swear I’ll never go back to crockpot beans

Also, making your own hummus is a delicate game of trial and error (mostly rooted in making sure you have high quality olive oil) but so worth it if you love hummus

Ooh I’ve never heard the tip of adding a teaspoon of baking soda for tender beans. I might have to try that. I live at 6000ft in Colorado and have to boil then soak, then boil then soak my beans and they still are basically al dente when it’s time to eat them. I’ll try adding baking soda next time.😊

What keeps me from going off the rails when I clean and organize is the mantra, "In order to clean up the existing mess, I have to make another mess, and then there will be no mess!" Having ADHD and Autism I live in a constant state of organized chaos! LOL Being 53 and late in life diagnosis (2019 age 49) I can now laugh at myself when I do this. It looks like insanity personified, until I'm done and then it looks like a professional organized it all!!! I just have to be very careful about putting things in a 'safe place' because there are still things I put in a safe place so I'd never lose then and 4 years later, I have yet to figure out what on earth I did with them!
