in the official MV of WWY they show Chisa standing alone with her hands cupped by the side of her mouth/face. she stands before an icy mountainside as she yells into the distance. we don't actually hear the audio from her shouting but Chisa is mirroring a scene from a japanese movie "Love Letter" where a widower is projecting her voice towards the mountains (where the husband is buried) "How are you" "i'm Fine". XG's video is about the members missing their families that they spend a lot of time apart from. ok i'm crying now.

Sorry for your loss brother. As a father I can't imagine what you went through but I know the feeling when listening to this song. My father was diagnosed with cancer like 2 days before this came out, and these lyrics get me everytime. Unfortunately he passed away June 11th so it hits home even more now. I can only imagine when I hear this at their concert, gonna be a hot mess.

I work from home for this reason to be with my son (who also has hydrocephalus)and homeschool him, and so i know your dreams will come true! This fan base that XG has built is one of the best fan bases I've ever been a part of and I think that just speaks to the type of people their music attracts. I really do believe that music controls so much of our emotions. If you make happy music it attracts happy people if you make toxic music it will attract toxic people. Jurin, Harvey, Maya & Cocona often sings a chorus on XG songs. In fact, besides Hinata, all the rappers sing the chorus parts on Shooting Star. Maya (the ace) often gets a song verse too. Keep in mind, this is a fairly new group (2 years old) and they haven’t even fully showcased all their individual capabilities yet. I know Simon is gonna eventually let the rap line shine on the vocals in the future-especially Cocona; she has a deep, soulful R&B voice. P.S., I’m so sorry for your loss 😢

Your girl Maya originally was designated as vocals, but with her great pronunciation she did more raps. You wanna hear Jurin sing, go for Left Right, Cocona singing in Something Ain't Right. You're done with all the rap tapes, you now gotta go for the Vox Tapes.

Jurin sings that soulful kind of sound as well as Cocona but there's seriously not enough songs yet to really hear it. Even Hinata needs to front more. She's been killing it lately doing live solo covers on tour but would like to get her in the studio and cut a record as her being a main vocal next drop. JaKoPs had to whittle down thousands of girls to these 7 and it still took him the last 10 to really figure out which to go with. No doubt Jurin, Cocona and Harvey are all-rounders but with Juria, Chisa and Hinata along with Maya, competition is tough when they want to play with their strengths and cut a solid song. WWY was inspired by a Japanese movie titled Love letter 1995 which they hinted in the music video. It's open to interpretation since it's not only a romantic relationship lost but it is about love lost during the winter or simply a loved one being missed over a long distance. The song isn't really a Christmas song but a R&B song that happens around Christmas and those who can relate really hits them hard when they really hear this song for the first time.

The prerequisite to make the group was to be able to hold your own as a singer. Don't think for one second that ANY of the rap line can't make a solo singing album.

They all 7 do sing crazy good though, but I think Simon wants to keep some minor differentiation between "the singers" and "the rappers" since thats the norm in K and J Pop. If you watch Xtra Xtra you can see good clips of Coco and Harvey just straight singing solo with no accompaniment or backing track or anything. And Coco has two short verses in New Dance where shes just singing

Thank you so much for sharing your pain of losing your child. This song hit me on a personal level as well… in 2019 my mother passed the 4 days after thanksgiving. We postponed her funeral because is all the people that would have to travel. She was buried on my son’s 16th birthday which was 3 days before Christmas. It has never been the same since.
