It's Day 4 of BC Bike Race and the circus has moved up the coast to Nanaimo, BC, for a stage that...rumor has it, is a bit heavy on the gravel road climbs. However, we found this stage to be full of surprises, some pleasant, some less so.
We last raced BC Bike Race in 2019 as a Co-Ed Duo Team and it was rough, with mechanicals and injuries plaguing us throughout the week. Four years later, we're back to try it again, this time both racing in the Solo Pro Category.
Over the next 7 days, we’ll be racing 180 miles, climbing 25,000 feet and battling some truly brutal conditions. It’s going to be tough. It’s going to be rugged. It’s going to be dusty. It’s going to be very, very hot. And while we might be in the best shape of our lives, with world class competition and temperatures in the 90s, well, this week is going to push us to the absolute limit.

Macky you are amazing but Syd you are just killing the climbs and descents. I’m always so impressed how you continue to climb over the terrain towards the end of the day when I know you have to be tired and hurting, heck I’m hurting for you and I’m just sitting on my trainer watching you two really cranking it out. I love watching both of you and I will admit my legs hurt at the end of the video even on days I’m not riding on the trainer while watching you.

Occasionally. Syd tends to see it more than I do as she gets mixed in with the amateur men who sometimes have something to prove. It's happening less and less as she gets faster uphill as she's with a faster group that has less to prove.

Checked the weather history there. Dewpoints in the 50's is not humid at all w/ temps in the mid 80's. Guess living in the high desert spoils you. They would die in a typical south east US summer.

Its Nice to see these video’s as a subscriber but Im getting a little annoyed. This was a 30kms stage. Sid is most of the time just talking about fuelling during the race and Macky always tries to take time on the guys while going downhill, while he actually looses to much time on the climbs. And it is like that in every video. You really need to work harder on climbing Macky because they will take more time on you on the climbs that you can make up on the descents. I love your work guys but it’s always the same comments during and after the race.
