Don't be to hard on yourself we have all done it, and you're still a very young man in your early years of racing and this won't be the last time that it will happen, all you can do is learn and move on you are going to have a great racing career and a lot more good days then bad you're just need to put the bad ones out of your head and move on it will really pay off in the long run. Thanks for keeping us up to date really injoy your updates looking forward to more.

First off, thanks for getting an update out to us about your little sister. Good to see she is handling all the adversity well with a positive attitude. She will be tough to keep down as she gets closer to being able to race. Good job at Cottage Grove. 2nd place is nothing to be down about. You always analyze your performance after every race for us and you seem to learn from you own review. That's about all you can ask. It a tough job to drive a sprint car although you make it look relatively easy. Nobody is perfect although we might want to be. You have come a long way from where the team and family were a month ago. Keep looking forward.

The only mistakes that hurt you are the ones that you don't learn from. You made the mistake, you owed up to it and you have learned from it. Wise beyond your years young man!!! Remember this from an old racer...There is no such thing as the "perfect race". Even after a win, you can always look back and say that I should have done this or that.

Another Great night of racing Tanner!! Cuddos also goes out to the THR crew that gave you a rocket out there on the track. Your car was ripping it up!!!! Sweet heat race, trophy dash, and a 2nd place finish in the A-main is nothing short of a perfect night. You made the decision and it didn't work out for you, so now you know what to do the next time you are faced with that in future races. It's not a mistake, it's valuable knowledge learned in your young career. Stay strong, stay positive, and keep doing what you're doing!!

Hey Tanner! Been watching your videos for a couple of years now and today decided to post! I have enjoyed watching your progress and now being a threat to win every time you hit the track! I thought you did a great job! I have always admired your professionalism and conduct whether you win or have a bad night. This race was unfortunate, but guess what even the top drivers in the country have made those mistakes. Again even in the interview at the end, it was nice to see the honesty and professionalism. No whining or pointing fingers, just I messed up and I’ll learn from it! Keep up the great work! Come to Texas!

THIS is the kind of improvement-driven honesty that teams want to see, and you have the talent to back the rest up. It won't feel like it now, but it's this growth now that hurts, but puts you in the position to bring in the big wins in the future.

Well done on that qualifying tanner. didn't think anyone was gonna be faster .. you and that engine did it.. it was absolutely roaring. It looked like you went exactly where you wanted it to go .. that was impressive.. you had those three aces in your hand and went for four when you didn't need to .. that I guess is when you gotta know when to hold and bluff without a last draw... That was high stakes and next hand you'll know what and when not to do anything different when you actually are flying ... live and learn .. you gotta stay confident and feel that confidence when you are the leader.. you were smokin them like Carly when she leads like that.. I would bet you have more points than sanders... You are very impressive stay calm and keep hitting those or your marks that put you ahead there ... You had your very own groove there t and I couldn't see how you were gonna get a second out of that or what was gonna be the reason in the main .. you were faster than all the guys by a mile... That's why you got a cruise control on that wheel tan.. relax be patient about your abilities and confident.. you are getting good hands.. and good at this.you learned alot about yourself this time and that's what it takes and how you do it. Stay safe and you will have that Knoxville trophy in a few more hands and draws.. listen to Carly when she says be safe around those lap cars... The high side was the high way for you I felt.. slow guys are always pretty much on the inside of the track... Not everyone can race the high scary side lap after lap, but those that do usually have the advantage of speed out of the corners and are able to keep a higher pace throughout the race. Someone really has to be faster or slide you at that point and there wasn't a challenger for you there to come close.. you had that trophy in your hands there tanner and didn't even know it.. kinda like folding with three aces.. Im positive you will not let that ever happen again and let go of those three aces you were holding for the night. . Racing in first place can be tricky all around when you know everyone is behind you, but you gotta remember who's out front and how you got there.. don't be down on yourself you came away without a scratch and learned a valuable lesson about yourself and self confidence . Nice to see Carly and heed her valuable words of advice.. be safe and you will get crowned with Knoxville's Jewel without a scratch... We are gonna have to call you mr fantastic t now. U r much better than you think now tanner .. don't feel you gotta keep pushing or overdriving when you got it perfectly under control is my advice for you... This track was your track and no one was gonna get you on the outside. you got this now tanner you can sit back and relax till next race.

That was a Great run Tanner Congrats on y Breezy still getting better she was definitely The Class of the field in this video but you went and proved that you are still human lol. I don't think that it's a bad thing to go looking at the different spots on the track when you can to see how the track is doing cuz yes as you have experienced and those of us who have watch d racing long enough, know that the track can and usually does change through out an event or a specific race. Fingers crossed that Breezy continues on the path that she is on so that you two can win the memorial and take home a big check. Thank you for a great video. Have a good one and have fun take care

In my youth my FAVORITE sport was basketball. But I loved it so much I was afraid to make a mistake while on court. I never reached my full potential. But because my 4 year older brother started me playing lacrosse at an early age, it was the sport I excelled at. Was an all county goalie my last two years in high school. Why? Because I wasn't afraid to make a mistake. I even scored once as a goalie on a fast break clear! Don't be afraid to make a mistake. You saved the car, no caution and drove to 2nd place. Nice job! 😊😊✌✌

Iguess it can sometimes be a good thing to be angry and disappointed about a second place finish, Tanner. You had a great run there and your only mistake was thinking you should have been able to go faster and then let some of the lapped cars get back by you. At least you saw what you did wrong and learned that some times a little faster actually isn't faster. Keep it up and remember, you're gaining more experience and the Championships are right around the corner. God Bless and stay safe.

Highlight to me was that young woman's voice.. "take it easy around lapped cars." Good advice from Carly. Being smooth is all about constant concentration. Maintain focus. Still a good run though. Lest you feel too badly about losing focus, think back to the Indy 500 a few years ago. .. The rookie J.R. Hildebrand leading the biggest race in the world. He made 799 turns perfectly.. only to lose his line on the 800th to finish second. It can happen to anyone in any sport.

@@TannerHolmes Maybe so!! Quite seriously, I lost a friend in an auto accident two days ago. She was wearing a seat belt but undoubtedly died from a snapped neck. I was explaining a HANs device to my wife and suddenly thought of Carly. Likely no one has suggested this to you or her, but in an odd way, Dale Earnhardt probably saved Carly's life. Within days of his passing in 2001, virtually every racing organization mandated them.

Drivers are there own worst critics. But, this is Sprint cars. You have to go all out at all times. You let off slightly and you will be passed. All I seen was you looking for more speed. Oh yeah, no such a thing as a mistake if you learn from it . You didn't drop off a second time. Turn Right, Go Left, Be Fast.

Not being familiar with sprint car racing, why would lapped cars ever be between the leaders on a single file restart ? That killed your chances for a win
@T1C452 жыл бұрын
The Majority of tracks stopped cramming lapped cars between the field a long time ago. Cottage Grove is stuck in 1994. Couldn't believe I was seeing that either. What's next, Counting Caution Laps like they did decades ago as well?

I've been in dirt racing for close to 30 years and have never seen that. Here in the south east the lap cars go to the tail end of the field. In my area we don't have much of a sprint car scene so I wasn't sure if it was just a sprint car thing or a western thing.
