I'm am old guy... started with PS 1.5 and LR from the beginning. A lot of the videos I watch are just the same techniques repackaged. I" ve watched 3 of your videos so far (just stumbled upon them) and have learned new ways to use LR's tools. Please keep it up. Thanks!

I find myself often trying all three projection modes, but I never thought of the boundary warp as a way to adjust distortion. Thank you for that, another tool in my box.

I do Astro Milky Ways and after a long use of PTGui I check if Lrc could do it and a found it could! My image had a full starry sky and with a beach and surf coming a shore. I did portrait view getting a very high Milky Way ARCH. Buoy lights of red and green along horizon where perfect. Just info!!! PTGui has many more projections but Lrc did a great job!

The one additional things to do before merging which I think is worth mentioning is cleaning up dust spots (not actually necessary in the sample images you did show) which I find especially annoying when doing it in the final dng if there is e.g. sky in the pano

Great point! And you'd be correct in assuming that I'd add dust spot correction to the list of things I do before stitching. Great reminder, Michael!

Brian, I’ve noticed that I frequently use the Calibration Blue Primary Saturation slider. I'm not entirely sure why, but it seems to enhance the look without being too heavy-handed. Also, when copying settings, why not leave it on 'All'? This way, only the changes you've made will be applied, while the other settings remain untouched. I only use selective copy when I want to apply some changes but not all. 😎🤙

I've got this video that dives into the Camera Calibration tools. I guess the Blue Primary Saturation slider tends to change the color of those pixels in a way that's most pleasing. I've never gotten a bad result with it, that much is for sure. As for selecting which settings to copy/paste instead of choosing "all," chalk that up to me being an overly-controlling kinda guy. 🤣 I like knowing exactly which values will be copied/pasted from image to image. I also know that I need to reply to you last text message. Been kinda crazy here, but we definitely need to catch up big time!

Great info as always! Never heard of a leveling base before but have definitely had to crop away a lot of a pano. Which one do you use with your RRS?

Love your videos. One thing I have found when in lightroom or camera raw. I highlight all the images then make the adjustment before sinking the images in a pano. Just seems easy that way. Rather then adjust one then sinking the images and ticking the boxes. Just a thought.

Great video. I don't do much pano work, so please excuse my ignorance here but... wouldn't mounting the camera / lens at the nodal point of the lens have made this whole selection of the type of projection moot, or at least much easier?

Brian, I think it's very normal for us to get used to following a pattern and turn it into routines when at some point we see that we liked what we did that time or it turned out to look well to us.

For sure. I am definitely guilty of that! But ideally, it's also important to know how to use the entirety of a tool to ensure that you're getting the best results.

Hey Brian, when you have the big white space after doing the pano, why not try to use AI generative fill to create content to fill the white space?

Its hard to understand how there was that much distortion using a tripod. Maybe t was level in the horizontal plane and not so much in the vertical aspect. My first action would have been to apply the Transform Panel before going to the Basic panel. Otherwise, my process is pretty much the same, but in LRC.

Would using Boundary warp have fixed the tree?
@brianmatiash
@brianmatiash 16 күн бұрын
Nope, I show what happens to the tree when you use it to the max. It’s ok to use it a bit (which I did), but not at full strength.

Is there a way in Lr to have it automatically enabled lens correction by default?
@brianmatiash
@brianmatiash 14 күн бұрын
Kinda sorta. If you are import raw files, you can select to apply a preset during import. So, you can create a preset with lens correction enabled and set that as the default import preset. Does that make sense?

@@brianmatiash I need to go back to making my own presets - for some reason I prefer not to but I think that's a mistake.
