If Will Johnson, Mason Graham, Abdul Carter, or Tetairoa McMillan are gone by 8, I do agree with getting a guy like Jalon Walker or possibly trading back. Out of all the potential players to pick in the first round, he does seem like the best overall fit for our team/scheme.
@erh-damex4l144 күн бұрын
Some people don't want the Panthers to take a WR because we need defensive help but if McMillan is the last player of that first tier of top players then why not? He'll automatically be the #1 on the Panthers and elevate the offense. Go defense the rest of the draft and make at least 1 big free agency signing for the D line like we did for the O line last year. They say this draft is deep at edge rusher so we can get someone in the 2nd.
@GoodKarma904 күн бұрын
@@erh-damex4l14 I don't want us to take a WR with the #1 either, but T Mac is the best receiver in the class and if he is there at 8 then we should not pass him up or we will regret it.
@haseebashrafahmedraja16804 күн бұрын
1 of them should be there surely
@bigl564 күн бұрын
abdul carter is my dream pick at 8. he doesnt have a lot of experience but has every tool you want to be an elite edge rusher in the league and getting to learn from a guy like clowney in the d line room would help him learn so quickly. he has defensive ROTY written all over him
@NoahBClark4 күн бұрын
I’m really all in on Malaki Starks don’t care that much about “positional value”. We were bad enough on defense that we just need a clear a definite hit and he’s the best safety prospect in years.

Starks is a dawg, I’d love to take him

One tendency with Evero that I’ve noticed is that in camp/early in the season, he likes versatile edge/off-ball linebacker hybrids. However, if there are any injuries to the inside linebacker room, he’ll have those guys play inside linebacker full time and won’t allow them to rush off the edge. We saw this with Frankie Luvu last year and with Trevin Wallace and Shaq Thompson this year.
@BoiWondaful4 күн бұрын
He didn't have much to work with as far as linebacker and d line is concerned, and safety for that matter ... he had to play it safe alot of the time due to the weak personnel depth and injuries to the starters
@lukeward17144 күн бұрын
@ I don’t disagree with that at all. I’m just saying that we’ll need better inside and outside linebacker depth than we’ve had if we draft a hybrid player like Walker.

I REALLY think we should trade up to get abdul Carter or mason Graham. Their play is SUPER elite and game changing, and once they're gone the edge/d-line prospects (though still a strong draft) drop off pretty hard and are all kinda in the same tier of skill. So I REALLY hope we can either trade UP for one of them, or trade DOWN for another decent edge and get some capital along with it. but I REALLY just hope we dont reach for someone else at 8

I'm a much bigger fan of Mike Green- dude has SO many moves and plays with a ton of technique. He doesn't have elite speed but his burst is absolutely incredible at times, he isn't as unstoppable as Abdul is but he does more with his athleticism and is able to beat tackles with both speed and power. He graded as both a pass and run defender while also producing against some of the best opponents he faced (Ohio State and VT). Now all this stated the best DE I've seen in the draft is Abdul Carter- he has an unteachable set of tools that should allow him to have a Von MIller esq impact in the NFL. There are moves that Carter makes that seem actually unstoppable- thats not exaggeration, I've seen the guy blow straight down the middle of the line and simply beat players INSIDE with speed. I'd be shocked if he doesn't run somewhere in the 4.4-4.5 range at the combine if he chooses to test at all. I think that production at the college level is incredibly indicative of future sucess and both of the Georgia edges lack that. I get that they don't get the snaps that other players do because of how deep the Georgia rotation is, but neither of these guys did anything that was as impressive as what I saw Green do (let alone what we saw Carter do).

Mike Green and James Pearce are my #2 and #3 pass rushers if we don't get Carter. The Green hype train is build, no way he ends up going where he's projected now as a late first, could be a top 10 pick. Will absolutely be top 15 imo. Good trade back option for us potentially. Mykel Williams lacks the speed and bend to be a high end NFL pass rusher imo. Pass for me. I like Jalon Walker also and would have no issues if he ws the pick, just think trading back (if we can) for Green or Pearce might be better given our need at edge.

i feel like this is very unpopular but pearce could be the man. trade back to like 10 and it’s perfect

Mason Graham is the stud of this draft. That is the ONE player that could change Panther defense. I would go so far as to say trade up for him. He is going to be that good.

If they're gone I would trade back and try and get more picks. Still think you could get Walker around #15. If we could trade back 1 or 2x and pick up additional 2nd and 3rd round picks I would do it. It's deep at DL/Edge. We could possibly add Walker, 2DL another Edge and a safety with those picks. 1st Round LB/Edge Jalon Walker 2nd Round Edge JT Tuimoaloa DT Alfred Collins 3rd Round S Kevin Winston Jr DL Damonte Capehart

we need blue collar DAWGS - My belief is Morgan will find them and restore our ability to get after you on defense - aka the Luke Kuechly era - that guy was a special player and sad that he had to end his career early.

It’s your opinion, but I’m not high on Jalon. I’m not seeing anything special to say, “oh he could be our leader “ all I’m seeing is him running around. Don’t take this as I’m looking for a Luke replacement or another TD! I rather get a guy that I know that I could count on. But when Luke was coming out he showed he understood what a team was calling, the hand jesters. To changing the play. Jalon isn’t giving me that he knows how to control the defense. To get his guys to come together. I don’t know man I won’t be okay if we took Walker at 8
