If you’re not using copper wires to hold up your expensive camera, are you really living?

Aka "visual/practical effects take waaay longer than expected". Which is why I have limited doing anything more than titles or a green screen bit to like 1-2 little clips per month! I can't imagine the work that goes into every cinematic minute of one of your videos...

Though oddly enough, I save myself a lot of headache by doing stuff directly through the CRT screens and recording onto actual VHS tapes lol

It's definitely worth it! I'm sure many of us (hopefully a lot) appreciate the depth and artistry you put into pulling off some of these shots end to end. I get exhausted just filming regular B-roll for projects I worked on weeks ago and sometimes start to lose interest. What you’re doing requires a special kind of dedication, and it's truly awesome imo. My personal faves from the last one is this intro orbit one of course, going through the cables and follow the rabbit scene.

Thanks! Yeah I need to keep filming b-roll while I build but a lot of the time I’m so focused on the build I put it off. A movie like this one I usually end up re-shooting the whole thing because I didn’t know what direction it was going in originally.

Love seeing some behind the scenes like this, makes you appreciate the care and effort that went into the videos even more. It's easy to forget how much work went into just the video itself when everything is so nicely executed

Thanks! Ill definitely make more as I'm working on stuff.

Considering that "temp" solutions tend to be permanent. I figure any jury-rigged tool is wroth more than bought, mostly cause it has personal touch to it.

Its also fun, but only if the camera doesn’t hit the floor hahah

Nothing better than what you can make for a price you can pay instead of buying what you can't afford.

Definitely, plus I’m just terrible at planning ahead haha

You may already have this, but I have found the best thing for filming alone or with a very limited crew is a small wireless "director's monitor" so that you can see the shot as you are setting it up.

Ohh, just the other day I was wondering about that. My FX3 has an app the works, but it’s kind of clunky and it disconnects my phone from the WiFi when I use it. Got any suggestions?

You should do a tutorial on how to make the CRT thing. I, for one, would be super interested!. Ok maybe it's not that interesting for everyone... then you could put on another channel, like SeanHodginsTooToo

😆 I can do that for sure. "How to pull a camera through a CRT screen" lol

Oh I think I have a project I could use some animated stuff. I wanted to do it for this years ornament, but it might have to wait until next year now. Ill keep that in mind! Thanks
