This happened to me with my son. At our local zoo a mama ape had a baby a week before my son was born. When they allowed the little guy out for public viewing I went and was holding my son while trying to get a glimpse of her baby. She came right over to where I was standing and was very curious, pointing to me. I crouched down and showed her my son and right after she showed me her baby. It was so sweet for us mama’s to show off our sweet little ones to one another.

@pissbaby684911 ай бұрын
@@cooperdesrocher6046 absolutely not. Female orangutans have a range of 3.5 square miles in the wild, males have up to 15. A zoo can never provide them with enough space and enrichment for them to thrive. All wild animals live the best lives in their natural habitats, that's why wildlife rehabbers try to get animals ready for release. In instances where animals cannot be returned to the wild (disability, socialized to humans, exotic pet) sanctuaries should be the ones to care for them. Not to bash reputable zoos conservation efforts, but sanctuaries usually have more space and are better equipped for the emotional needs of the animal. Idk if she's a rescue, caught specifically for a zoo, or captive bred, but either way, this is no life for her. The captive breeding of great apes is cruel, too. They all need so much space, we should try to leave as many in their natural habitat as possible. If you're actually concerned, perhaps learn more about conserving the animal's habitat so it continues to be better than a zoo!

@@friendlyfire7509 Harambe got agitated by the way the people outside of the enclosure were acting. They were yelling, screaming and throwing things, and if they hadn't done that, there's a good chance that Harambe would not have been at much risk of hurting the child. For reference, look up the other two times small kids fell into gorilla enclosures and things turned out alright. Namely the stories of Jambo and Binti Jua.

@Jestman2211 ай бұрын
Humans are animals. No evidence for a soul existing. It has nothing to do with it being a “human baby”, they act the same for all baby animals because same as us, babies are cute. Primates think and act very similar, that’s why humans and orangutans seem similar, both primates.

They dont exactly live in a house in the wild. They only get to be so chill here. They might be pretty smart but pythons, leopards, crocodiles etc. are neither concerned or deterred by that. Not to forget other apes, including humans. That is really their greatest threat.
