Okay so I think multiball did a ridiculous amount of damage against the dragon there because all but 1 or 2 of them went down a X2 hole with the last one going down an X1. At level 3 you generate 8 balls with multiball which means your peg damage was multiplied by 2 to the power of 6 or 7 Without the poker chip, you'd have done about 400 damage

Fun fact, an earlier version of the gambling relic had a x0 slot at the bottom of the screen, but that was removed specifically because it made the relic a liability for Multiball builds. After all, if you’ve got eight balls on the screen, chances are, one of them hits the x0 mult, and suddenly none of your attacks are dealing any damage, because the multipliers multiply by themselves. (I learned this the hard way) Tom got very lucky with the multiplier slot placements and the dragon’s hoard - anywhere else and that shot would have done at most 400-800 damage.

I've been coming back to rewatch 25:50 to the end, because I love that Tom's VERY final rewards choice instincts impact him in ways _he cannot even possibly imagine_ and that exactly how that will play out is preempted by _a triple misplay navigation_ to reach the final boss. The emotional rollercoaster blindside here is probably one of the best in the whole Peglin series.

Which multiplied 6 times to 12800 by 26:28 (you can see it on the right ball going into the x1). What hit the dragon as 25600, 7 times the initial 200.

Orbsium seems kinda nutty, baseline you can think of it as a 4/8 that gets 4x bonus on any damage buff. Get, say, 2 muscircle and suddenly you're a 12/8.

most of the multi-balls fell into the x2 multiplier and each one counted so the initial 200 dmg or so that they had made from hitting the pegs just got multiplied by 2 for each ball that made it in the x2 slot

I think that several of the multiballs went in the x2 slot at the bottom so the damage multiplied a few times over

Each multi ball contributes to the overall damage when they hit a chip zone. All but one of the multi-balls went into the x2, with each ball doubling the damage, until it hit madness levels. Pretty rare chance, since most of it only happened because the level funnelled them all down that way.

it ended up being a 2 to the 7th power multiplier on the damage from poker chip, for 128x damage from 7 balls hitting the 2x and 1 in the 1x. The pegs hit the first time did nothing, followed by the refreshed buff pegs adding up to a raw 200 damage shot. The stars aligned for a very confusing 1 shot. If only the run had duplication station and matroshka shell, could have gotten integer overflow if you managed to fit 32 orbs into the 2x hole.

I wish upsidedown man actually like... flipped your peg layout upsidedown. We've got fights that have more than 1 peg layout now, and fights that shift where you fire from part way through. It feels like "annoyingly flips your pegs or where you fire from" over and over would still be more fun than that it is now
