Caught my first 2 fish on a Kanata last week. Both fish UNDER 2.5 lbs. Which was actually a HUGE confidence booster. The size does not intimidate. I can attest that adding the 2 gram Zappu board weight suspends it perfectly in 85-90 degree water temp here in Texas. Thanks as always guys.

Does this modification also apply to kanata SW version as well? Can you also recommend hooks/split ring size for the upgraded as well?

Man I'm glad you mentioned the Tequila Baccarac for the Kanata. I have one, but it never occurred to me to try it. I bought the Spec R just for the Kanata. Now that you say that, I bet it could control it much more positively. Anyhow, good tip!

This is the most effective Lure especially in GCC countries, saltwater . This lure is mainly hooking big size clever king mackerel from shore and it is so successful

It’s a big bait but way thinner and easier to fish vs a Pointer 128. Love both

Kanata is awesome jerkbait, we use it for pike fishing a lot. Nishine weight definitely worth of trying!! Thinking of upgrading my jerkbait rod and looking at carbon head f5-611 super cyclone. Is it a good deal for Kanata, rudra and 130 balisong type jerkbaits? Or not to bother and take diablo spec R?

I just picked up a 1pile of Kanatas and an Orochi Spec R a couple of weeks ago and just came back to the Ozarks a week ago. Of course, I had to try it out and put on Perch as there are a ton of lake perch here. Well, what do ya know? It started cracking em. I tried quite a few different types of jerkbaits just to see, but the Kanata has been king. All winter here, I smacked bass, walleye, and crappie with the 110, but now they want that Kanata. Anyhow, it was kinda ironic seeing this video right after deciding to get a pile of Kanatas and a Spec R to throw em on. BTW, the Nishine weights are awesome. I bought a pile of em and tried on the Kanata, and I know bass are typically more aggressive in summer, but they have seemed to prefer it to sit still every 8-10 ft after more aggressive retrieve speed and they smash it after the pause.

I never thought of putting the blade on the those Kanata's I usually take the front hook off and use a double point style treble and do sweeps with them near rocky areas and wood that double frog style hook on the front really helps that bait go right over wood and stays a lot more weedless u can also go all double prong /frog style hooks . An you'll get a super weedless bait some guys from Japan are doing this with the DRT baits and larger swimbaits for same purpose and getting pretty good hookups with even those bigger baits.

Reeled & Jerked - Excellent name for a tackle shop.! Love the tuning weight & smaller hook idea. It's so simple and yet a functional mod. Hmm..maybe there's a market in modding bait, have to look into that..! Cheers mate from Australia.

A sleeper rod for this bait is the daiwa tatula 7'3 swimbait rod. That's a sleeper rod in general that's not crazy expensive. It does good with the kanata, megabass grenade, megadog x, vatalion, and the big m. The tranx 300 is a good reel for it

May not be as applicable to this bait because of it’s size but tungsten putty around the hook shank(s) is my favorite way to dial in the perfect suspend with standard sized jerkbaits. It’s a pretty versatile way to go about it.

The reaon why Nobody Is Throwing this is that this bait is too big for a bass to inhale. So a musky pro would fish it and win $1000.
