What a time to be alive as a guitarist! I'm on ToneX pedal + real pedals right now I don't think I will go away from my setup any time soon, but I just amazed with the progress last 2-3 years. I’m super pleased to see this review because I returned a HX Stomp XL after taking like a month to learn it and then bought the Headrush Core. I felt EXACTLY the same way but even my sales guy was telling me that he thinks the Helix tones are slightly better. I am happy with the output quality of the Headrush. Having said that, I still think there’s no duplication to a real amp, cab and pedals. Your review is spot on for me. I really like the unit but I really wish they had an editing software as well. I love and have owned pretty much every modeler in recent memory. From Helix full size, the Stomp, AxeFx, Kemper, Kemper floor, Headrush MX5, FM3, Neural Quad Cortex, some Moore products, etc. I’ve gotten rid of them all for a Boss Katana Artist amp. I got to the end of the road with these things because of the freakn complexity of even getting familiar with them. Yes, they’re all absolutely incredible. I have a good amount of knowledge in how they all work and can get what I need from them. I still ended up HATING the fact that I feel like I needed a freaking PHD in modeling terms and technology to even get going. I’m over all modeler boards or pedals. $599 for the Katana Artis amp and $250 for 2 GAFC-EX pedals and I get all of this and more. Minus the profiling feature, which at this point I just don’t care about anymore. Is this thing mind blowing and incredible technology? Absolutely. But modelers over the past 9 years have actually pushed me back to a good modeling amp. By the way you sounded great playing it.

LOL man. You're honest what's not to like about that? Where am I at? I just bought and downloaded the MARS4510 pack for my Helix while I watched this. OK, here's a question for the community...The Prime comes with Revalver and Antares Autotune, right....Now, these are typically plugins used within a DAW, but they ported them to the Prime for live use. Who will create a live foot controlled workstation that can load virtually ANY DAW plugin for live use. Imagine a pedal that would run Helix Native, all the Neural DSP plugins, etc. Would that not be the ultimate pedalboard? I'm thinking like a mini PC running a DAW type software, within a housing, with footswitch controls, that could potentially load and run any and all plugins (with purchased licenses of course). That would make it the most customizable all in one pedal. Why hasn't this been made, yet? Certainly you can potentially do it with a laptop, a robust interface, and some midi controllers, but a one size fits all piece of hardware seems like the way to go.

Not sure it’s the most accurate thing out there but it sounds like the amp, maybe a bit of high end presence roll off but it’s slight. Add some reverb and you wouldn’t notice.

It sounds like it clones the entire effected guitar tone, not just the core tone?

I added some delay and verb on the headrush. It won’t capture delay and verb etc.

Don't want to assume (and I may have missed this)...is it backwards compatible with Headrush rigs, set lists, etc?

Not sure

I've been wanting to get a higher end modeling board. I keep holding out thinking a bunch of stuff has to coming out soon. Most everything on the market is pre-covid years old. I love seeing this! Now it's Line6's turn to respond. I want this sort of power in an HX Stomp sized package. I would totally buy this if it weren't so large, I can't take this to practice on my motorcycle. If they put this into a Fractal FM3 sized box, oh man!

It's probably a few months away since they are just getting this out. My full sized HeadRush resides on my desktop. Rarely ever leaves. I've tried to use just plugins but I keep coming back to it because there is just so much you can do with it.

Nice unit, good features, and sounds very good, but it is too big in my opinion. It also needs a Desktop Editor.

fantastic Pedalboard really complete with everything crazy great those two engineers of the famous orange Eleven rack that I still use regularly because it has always satisfied me more than line 6 and Fractal but this new prime is in my next purchase.💪🤗

That weird decay helix has is the thing that keeps steering me away even when I love the overall tone haha. It feels a bit nitpicky to say but it’s true
@ToneJunkieTV Жыл бұрын
It’s 100% true and when people say they don’t know what I’m talking about I just file it in the back of my head and remember “they either don’t hear it or don’t want to”

Fine, but can it handle 2 guitars with dedicated effects and signal paths? And does it have an input for a stompbox, letting solo acts accompany themselves rhythmically?

Good question
@ToneJunkieTV Жыл бұрын
Some other reviews will most likely cover that, sorry, I was a bit hyper focused on the cloning.
@MuckingAboutWith Жыл бұрын
I've read the manual and yes it can have 2 completely separate Guitar Paths and Yes there's an Aux in for your Stompbox.
@scottbecker3485 Жыл бұрын
@@MuckingAboutWith Excellent, thank you. So, to be clear, I can have vocals plus two guitars? That means 3 inputs, besides aux.
@MuckingAboutWith Жыл бұрын
@@scottbecker3485 You didn't mention Vocals :) No, Its Vocals and One guitar plus Aux. Or Two Guitars and Aux.
