Are they effectively the same pedal, with different branding?
@GetOffset3 күн бұрын
@ I don't know, but they have similar functionality. I'd recommend checking out a video of the white version if you're curious about how different it sounds.

What a Fantastic demo Emily! You showed so many of the colorful ways a Leslie or Vibratone effect has been used. Again, thanks for a superior demonstration of my new rotary., excellent sound quality, and a very thorough explanation of how to use the features.

Robert,This rotary seems to sound way better than the one in the Monterey pedal...so what gives. Did some new stuff come to light ? Its really hard to even consider the "rotary" in the Monterey even a Rotary!

The Beatles used the rotary sound on a number of Abbey Road tracks, the guitar solo in Let It Be, also Cream for Badge, ect

Yo! Happy freak'in year of new. Good to see you got to demo this beauty! I already got mine. Unapologetic Keeley fan. Jimi used it, but he was more remembered for giving the Univibe it's place in history. Rock&Roll!

Sounds great! One of your first demo chord sounds - sounded like the beginning of a Paul Simon song. Nice job!

I think about 10 yrs back Hammond came out with their own version of a rotary simulator pedal called The Lesile. It sounds great and has a setting that captures the SRV Lesile tone perfectly.

I'm not usually into rotary effects, but this pedal sounds so lush and dreamy.

Pretty close to a real rotary speaker you find in old Hammond organs. Full of character like those old Leslie speakers. I like your guitar and playing too. Nice work!

Hendrix did not use a Leslie, or any mechanical rotating speaker system. Jimi used a Uni-vibe pedal, that was a awful emulation of a rotating speaker, but sounded wicked cool. The Keely sounds warmer than my Strymon Lex. The Lex has a stereo out, but a mono In. The biggest difference I hear from the Keely, to me, is there is only one rotating speaker being emulated. The Strymon Lex emulates a true Leslie cab, which has a treble horn rotating in one direction, and bass speaker facing into a rotating drum rotating in the opposite direction. The 2 speakers speed up and slow down at different rates, so the sound gets very complex… but I kinda like the Keeley’s pre-amp’s saturation better.

He absolutely used a Leslie on a few tracks: Little Wing, Drifting, Tax Free, Angel, Ships Passing Through the Night etc. He used the Leslie in studio way more than the Uni-Vibe in fact. That was more or less a live effect.

Your videos are always the perfect #BLEND of what the features are, how to adjust the #PARAMETERS of the those features, and a great personal #SATURATION of your #GEEKINGOUT on your favorite features which tend to be the same features that I would #GEEKOUT over. @Keeley makes that #MONTEREYPEDAL that seems similar with the double form factor and a #FUZZ #OVERDRIVE if I’m not mistaken. I’ve been looking at the Monterey for awhile (admittedly because I went to college and got my BA, lived and worked there on the former Fort Ord), but I didn’t realize they made a single form #ROTARY. Glad your review came up in my feed. That hasn’t been happening too much.

What a sweet, simple pedal. I'd like to try playing my Wurlitzer 200a electric piano through one to get some Hammond-like vibes!

If you could have only this or the JHS Artificial Blonde? I already bought this and I’m awaiting it. When you showed how sweet the preamp on this pedal was, I was immediately sold. My next pedal, I’m leaning toward the JHS AB. Thanks.

Rick Wright's Hammond, along with David Gilmour's Strat on Pink Floyd 'Echos' is a great example of rotary effects.

SRV The Beatles I mean just about most guitar legends have used a rotary effect. This one sounds nice but I’m still with Uncle Larry that Strymon one replicates the drum the best which is what is missing from all replicating pedals imo. It’s not hard to get the horn but anyone who hears in person and knows what the drum does it’s magical and just not quite there in pedals. The best outside of a pedal I have found was in Logic Pros rotary effect

Hendrix used the Uni-Vibe, beginning with the Woodstock Festival. The producers should have given the device its own credit in the liner notes. It was up-front-and-center on every track.

Jimi used a Univibe. Angel from Cry of Love is a good example.
@Robokiller802 күн бұрын
I believe an actual Leslie cab is used on that, clearly mic'd in stereo and slightly overdriven. A Uni-Vibe doesn't sound like that.

I don't think it is as good as a tech 21 Roto choir, that's all I've been using for 25 years, all the other pedal builders Leslie pedals just don't sound as gritty and good as my original old Leslie except the tried and true roto choir. This does sound really good.
