I have all three Digitech "Factory" pedals. Bought the DF-7 nearly 20 years ago and got a lot of use out of it. Picked up the CF-7 a couple of years ago for less than $30 on Ebay! Don't think that will happen again. Finally, after looking for many years, I found an EF-7 on Reverb at a music store in Ohio, and I jumped on it. I was pleased to find it in excellent condition, with power supply included. I also have the RP-300, an RP-200, and a Digitech Whammy. Digitech/DOD really ruled in those days. You are right, the EF-7 is not entirely practical, but for finding certain sounds, few other pedals can match it, especially with the foot pedal included. I love it. BTW, I really like your song development process. Keep it up!

I’m late but I’ll add on to this. My Boss CE-3 is the pedal that constantly reminds me to never sell/trade. It really has all the range and can blend well with other pedals in the mix.

I picked up a EX-7 about 5 years ago and it has been sitting on a shelf ever since. After watching your video, I am definitely going to plug it in a play around with it. I have a AmpliTube X-Vibe and have not liked the Rotary and Univibe on it, maybe the EX-7 will do it better. My pedal that is always turned on is a Zvex Super Hard On - set to unity gain. It is very subtle, but something magical happens to the tone. I know that no one in the audience can hear it, but . . .

my favorite way to use the ex7's space station preset is to use it with the boss line selector through one channel and a compressor and reverb through another then blend them together to get a more consistent sound and usable sound without all the latency!

I had a Digitech RP5 from 1995 that did indeed blow my mind. I was playing a lot of Sonic Youth-inspired feedback jams and it did not disappoint.

the pedal, that blew my mind is zoom b1on. This tetris-like powerhouse of a pedal is still on my pedalboard. I've edited its firmware, added FX from zoom CDR, and it became my go-to reverb/modulation/comp/looper/drummachine. Its successor became my main bass processor, and i LOVE both pedals. Awesome video, btw!

Man now i wanna get one of these. The Space Station patch reminds me a lot of the Soft focus patch on the Yamaha FX500. I have the Catalin bread version of the Soft focus patch, but it would be really cool to mess with that sound with a expression pedal!

I had the gnx4 and it was amazing for the time and I had so many convincingly great sounds in a pedal format. A couple buttons died and I ended up parting it out for its smaller components. Loved what digitech did back then for guitar players.

digitech had cab sim options on the rp-1 that came out in the early 90s. it was the first floor based multi effect unit. i still have my original that i bought new and another i bought used as a backup.

I got a Maestro EP-3 in a little shop when I was 15. It was about $100. More of a giant shoebox than a stompbox, but it's still probably the trippiest effect I own!

It's boring but genuinely amazing - the Boss BP-1W. It's a preamp/clean booster and it's magical. The preamps are based on the boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble preamp and the Roland RE-201 Space Echo preamp.
