In this video I am located in a town called Oświęcim, located in southern Poland. This town is known for the Memorial and Museum of Auschwitz Birkenau, a former WWII concentration and extermination camp with ruins and preserved gas chambers. This is a place with a dark history. During Word War II Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime murdered over 1 million people. Adolf Hitler was an Austrian-born German politician who was dictator of Germany from 1933 until his death in 1945. Auschwitz concentration camp was a complex of over 40 concentration and extermination camps operated by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland during World War II and the Holocaust. It was the largest of the German Nazi concentration camps and extermination centre's. In the past over 1.1 million men, women and children lost their lives here at the Nazi death camp. It consisted of Auschwitz I, the main camp (Stammlager) in Oświęcim; Auschwitz II-Birkenau, a concentration and extermination camp with gas chambers; Auschwitz III-Monowitz, a labor camp for the chemical conglomerate and dozens of subcamps. The camps became a major site of the Nazis' final solution to the Jewish question.
In May 1940, German criminals brought to the camp as functionaries, established the camp's reputation for sadism. Prisoners were beaten, tortured, and executed for the most trivial reasons. The first gassings-of Soviet and Polish prisoners-took place in block 11 of Auschwitz I around August 1941. Construction of Auschwitz II began the following month, and from 1942 until late 1944 freight trains delivered Jews from all over German-occupied Europe to its gas chambers. Of the 1.3 million people sent to Auschwitz, 1.1 million were murdered. The number of victims includes 960,000 Jews (865,000 of whom were gassed on arrival), 74,000 ethnic Poles, 21,000 Roma, 15,000 Soviet prisoners of war, and up to 15,000 other Europeans. Those not gassed were murdered via starvation, exhaustion, disease, individual executions, or beatings. Others were killed during medical experiments. As the Soviet Red Army approached Auschwitz in January 1945, toward the end of the war, the SS sent most of the camp's population west on a death march to camps inside Germany and Austria. Soviet troops entered the camp on 27 January 1945. In today’s video I take a walk around the museum which was a concentration camp. I look inside the block buildings which once was a place where the prisoners were kept from different backgrounds such as Roma gypsy, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland and other countries but most of the people killed in the Auschwitz concentration camp were Jewish people inside the gas chambers, which the German Nazis used Zyclon B to exterminate them. I also saw inside the museum there are rooms with the victims personal belongings left behind such as their leather boots, shoes, glasses, and empty leather suitcases. Inside one of the rooms was a big pile of human hair from the deceased victims which I was unable to show on camera in a room behind a glass window from the victims that perished in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Those who do no remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Folk if You are interested in that kind of things i recommend to You to watch movie "Wilkołak" (2018). It's about a group of orphans who run away through the forest and take up residence in an abandoned palace. Everything happens after the liberation of the camp. Greetings from third generation fighting for the truth.

And one more interesting fact: do You know that in the Polish Warsaw Uprising against Germans in August 1944 there was a Nigerian fighting together with Polish against Germans? His name was August Agbola O'Brown, code-name "Ali". Before the war he was a jazz musician and ge came to Poland in 1922, and Poland became his home. You can read about it in English in Internet. He is also commemorated in the Warsaw Uprising Museum in Warsaw.

@Twisted_utopia
@Twisted_utopia Жыл бұрын
@@anon-8519 this not a polish death camp, it was built by the operated by German nazis. These camps were all over poland and Germany, this is the largest one. Ethnic poles were labeled as political prisoners and resettled into concentration or labor camps, and even death camps for forced labor depending on who they were, and ethnic Germans took over their homes and used people forced into these camps as the primary work force for the nazi state.

Words can't describe the feeling that one gets just walking the streets and seeing the gas chambers. I was in awe and my heart was so heavy. I will never forget seeing the shoes and suitcases collected piled to the ceiling. The locks of hairs from being shaved and the train used for transportation. Seeing the countless pictures of the victims was shocking. Thank You for sharing so the world will know and not forget.

You saw a spectacle largely directed by Jews - First of all, there were no Jews in Auschwitz - only Poles and Russians. Thus, for over two years, the Auschwitz camp was used to exterminate non-Jewish Poles. Jews enjoyed until mid-1942. relative calm. Only in the summer of 1942 In 1942, a second camp was built in Birkenau, and Jews were transported to Birkenau from the summer of 1942. Why do Jews attribute Poles' victims as their own? Because to murder Palestinians now.

I've been living in Poland all my life and it's still hard to comprehend such horrors happend not a long ago and my grandmother lived during that era. Since you were in Krakow, there is another much smaller camp KL Plaszow in the city. It's just a park with few memorials and two buildings but nonetheless you get that eerie feeling when you enter.

Great video Andre. Thanks for noting that it's German Nazi death camp, and not Polish death camp as some would like to call it. Thank you as well for treating the subject with proper dignity. At the beginning I wondered how you will present this place as the other of your movies are rather cheerful and funny. You have proven that you are very positive guy with the heart in the right place. And what's worth noting is that several hours is not enough to sightsee carefully the whole museum. Last time I was there for like 4 hours and I regretted that I couldn't get there earlier. I would say the whole day is optimal.

37:33 I worked there as an electrician in 2014. In this block of flats. I had to crawl through the debris in the basement... to drill holes for the cables. Civilians didn't see the place and the bones that I saw. Greetings to the electric company EL-EN Kraków

Having been to Auschwitz as a mandatory "school trip," I thought that crossing the gate was already difficult. I was wrong when it came to visiting the gas chamber.... I am very glad that no one from my family ended up there, although it was close.

You should also read about the German concentration camp for Polish children in Łódź (during the war Germans called this Polish town Litzmannstadt) - KinderKZ Lizmannstadt. It was established in 1942 adjacent to the Ghetto. Ghetto was prepared by Germans for Jewish people and this concentration camp was next to it, especially for Polish children. Children were tortured and killed there in the years 1942-1945. The youngest children were only 2 years old. Around 3000 Polish children were imprisoned there, in inhumane conditions, torture, hunger, violence and death alone there, being killed by Germans. You can read in Internet also in English about this.

Andre, bardzo tobie dziękuję, iż podjołeś temat niemieckich obozów koncentracyjnych. Że mówisz prawdę w tym filmiku. A prawda jest ostatnio tuszowana, a Niemców się wybiela.

what god? the Catholic one who was supposed to watch over the entire humanity and protect it from the evil one, who put his son to death, who was supposed to free all humanity from sins and create heaven on earth, or the Jewish Yahweh who supposedly drowned the entire world or destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and ordered people to kill enemy nations for fun? The most shocking, thought-provoking and memorable sentence that was written on the wall of a concentration camp: "If God exists, he will have to beg me for a long time to forgive him" says more about gods and faith in them than you can imagine... so don't wish ours friendly KZbinr lousy thing with your superstitions

By the way, the first German mass genocide in XXth century was the genocide on Namibian people in Africa - Herero and Nama people genocide. And once defeated, thousands of Hereros and Namas were imprisoned by Germans in concentration camps, treated in an inhumane, terrible way and killed. So they started to practice mass genocide earlier, on African people. Then continued in Auschwitz and other German death concentration camps during the II WW.
