Doesn't matter if you tank your CPU with a solar base...the CPU in RE1 only applies to fuel based power generation, as Solar Capacitors don't blow up when you overload the CPU, only generators do 😁

Salvage nets things like the occasional zasc or erestrum gel. Just processed 9 (1, 3, 5 of three types) and got LOTS of electronics. Plus 1 zasc alloy, 3 gel. Hint: Turn on structural view to see the wrecks in the dark/underwater.

I RE1, depending on type, you can get Zasc, Estrum, Zasc Alloy, Estrum gel (as noted), magnesium, aluminum powder, power relays, adv electronics, and rarely optronic bridges, as well as lots of basics

So the only "crashed" ships you can put a core on when playing on a server are the ones in colonist scrap yards. Crashed ships on planets and moons are technically bases so they can spawn partially in the terrain. This means they regenerate as per the regenerating POIs mechanic on a multiplayer server and therefore cannot have player cores placed in them. In previous alphas you could place player cores in POIs but this resulted in players losing their bases when the POI regenerated. Of course you would think Eleon could put a simply check into the regen code to say 'If player core then dont regen' But this is Eleon and they hate you and want you to suffer.

I once saw a starter on the workshop that was upgradeable and could be turned into a prety strong mid game corvette. I dont remember the name of the guy but what caught my eye was the fact that he put projectors with the upgrades on the spots he planned with instructions. Just an idea for the future if ur interested 😉

I did something similar for my Helldivers Super destroyer, Upgrade instructions are becoming quite the norm for a lot of Blueprints now. Usually I would do this on the workshop description but LCD in the ship are harder to ignore ;)

I often start on one of the dead worlds, no ores, no tree's hard start no BP's allowed. You have to build everything from what you can find and you can walk for days before even finding a building to loot. If you find a twig or 2 you count yourself lucky, no life anywhere just you, yeah fun times learning to thrive on one of these worlds. Lots of hidden stuff to. People that want a real challenge should give these planets a go. Built a mini CV on one of these worlds. Makes a great base as there are no enemies or factions to deal with. Though will warn you on many of these it's luck if you get any small ore boulders or rocks, and you get no rocks by digging either just go north at the poles are some rocks. You don't want to do one of these if your new to the game.

Hey Spanj tnx for all your content. I have a suggestion u made me think of when u showed the more speed trick on the diggity. Why not make your lift trusthers also be your forwards thrust. more like a classical rocket stile desighn. that would make for some interresting shipdesigns wouldnt it? it would atleast decrease the trusther req, and cpu. tnx again

I've certainly done this with fighter style designs, such as the surge, hardly any lift thrust on that, all forward power but when it comes to a miner that needs to lift heavy things it just makes more sense to have that thrust for lift. generally this is more user friendly than something that has to be flown in a specific way.

Its a hugely beneficial poi. Lots of boxes, tons of components like thrusters and tanks. CPU's and a lot of other random bits and bobs. The toughest part is finding the Core the first time. Totally worth it though. If your not on a server you can put in a core and take your time pulling everything out for max resource returns. Enough to make a New CV easily. Whats crazy is I don't think I have seen a dead planet that did not have one either.

unfortunately you cannot fly into Suns, blackholes, nebulas etc they are just visual things. Also at a max speed of 100ms it would take you several hundred years to cover the distance

Spanj, you had a salvage core on you for a change and could have used it twice; once in the poi with all the cargo containers, easier to grab the stuff as I am sure that poi has wireless(though a great idea to also have a wireless on hand along with a salvage core), and again with the hard to see underwater capital ship where you could have gone to devices and set all the thrusters to display in the HUD lol. Entertaining video as always and loved the 'not a star trek' ship as well 👍

On multiplayer servers where POIs regenerate, you can't put in a core. At least, thats how it is on his server. Only time I get to use that core is on ships. They don't regenerate. If you take out a CV, its out.

Dont forget you cannot place player cores (including salvage cores) on POIs on multiplayer server like this one due to the POIs Regenerating mechanic

But I imagine something like that is pretty low on their list. And as people would try to take them over and use them it would probably annoy a lot of people too. Ah well, people.

Sharee was removed in recent versions of RE but we managed to keep it on the Broken Eden server for this series. But as you've seen, its a little borked. Ravien did say he does want to finish it and bring it back for Reforged Eden 2

The calculations around material return on COLLAPSING structures actually seem 'broken' in some sense. Seems you get MORE materials by collapsing than if you'd salvage the blocks 1 by 1. So even the 'juicy' bits you're better off collapsing. Albeit somewhat nerve-wrecking if you don't wanna risk losing the mats. I 'semi-scientifically' tested this on the big "Radar Station" POI ("radar station"? cant remember for sure)... The one that has a couple of VERY tall tower poi's next to it that contain TELEPORTERS. I did the test a couple of times... COLLAPSING the teleporter along with the tower i got the FULL return on the teleporter mats... Sometimes even more than full oddly enough. Obviously if you salvage it, you only get a percentage.

Don't know if you found the base cpu extention under the base at 25:08. You have to go through some damaged blocks on the floor. Then crawl to the opening into the basement area. Wala.. large bridges. You can get rarer resources from that heavy scrap. From the light scrap you usually just get neo.

@Spanj Loving all Vermillions new space wrecks. Some have phenomenal beginner game loot. Found one with about 250 each of zacs and erst. And another with about 75 gold. A few trigger bandit attacks and one does a small bandit fleet. Fun!!!
