If you're quitting because of skins you were only there for the gooner part of the game. Its an optional cosmetic and you can stare at the skin all you want in the Nikkepedia, so really all you miss out on is the burst animation

People don't buy luxerious clothing or expensive cars or watches because they NEED them - they do so to show of. (Or if they have extra money to spare) Because they _convinced_ themselves that that's what they need. You won't starve without GUCCI clothing, nor will die from not having newer IPhone every few monts. You buy skins if you like them - it doesn't affect your gameplay, doesn't give you additional stats, it does absolutely NOTHING except for looking shiny. You can live without buying a single skin - and absolutely nothing changes. I honestly have no idea what you were cooking, but you for sure got burnt 🔥🔥🔥

I usually don't mind gacha skins on Nikke but I have a small problem with the last two AKA Crown and Modernia. These two are not like the previous ones, Emilia, 2B, Drake, Rupee, Dorothy and idk if I am missing others. // Event Story + Side Story Spoilers \\ Modernia and Crown's gacha skins are their current new appearence in the lore and they even have new abilities. I saw someone make a perfect comparison: Imagine having a Dragon Ball Gacha game where you summon for a Base Son Goku from the Saiyan Saga and then, you have a 50€ Gacha skin that is Super Saiyan 3 Son Goku from the Buu Saga BUT your unit is technically still the Base Son Goku from the Saiyan Saga with its abilities and so on. This is my only problem, these two should have straight up been new units maybe saved for later

As someone that lives in New Zealand I'll be real, to buy anything we are paying nearly triple of other countries. Content creators get bank of views and subs etc This game was super fun when I started but I'm pretty sure they change drop rates after a certain time playing, the currency is stingy, you need 200 pulls to get one free drop, the shop is a scam and the gatcha costumes is a scam. If the prices were good or they did sales then I'd still spend. That Marian skin cost $105 to get. I'm going back to free to play now, after this anniversary and the drop rates on bough gems I'm spending my money on better games and life 🤣✌️🏻

Yeah most humans are selfish, all of us, it’s easy to forget that the price isn’t the same for everyone and that some people can’t afford a very expensive skin. Do you want an example of a good skin system for both sides of the story? Skins become available in the store 2 or 3 months after their release, at the cost of DIAMONDS obtained in the game, not paid ones. that simple

i dont play for the gacha skins, skins are not needed, the most important thing is the characters. I personally missed a couple of characters with the chainsaw collab or the latest re zero. But here the question is different, do you play for fun, or for the sake of skins. If for the sake of skins, it’s better to leave, there will simply be a hole in your home budget, if you have fun and play with skins and get emotions first of all.

Hot take: Anyone quitting a gatcha game for ANY reason they feel is based because while the game may be fun, gacha games are inherently predatory towards the player and no matter how much the developer feels like they care, in the end it’s up to the shareholders and company behind them. They want money and as much as they can hold you for. You wanna quit because the skin is too much for you? Perfect, absolutely valid and I hope you do better and save your money for something nicer for yourself. Getting out of a gacha game is hard due to FOMO and a sunk cost fallacy which even I have fallen into. I want a house and a family, and spending too much on these games calling it my hobby won’t get me anywhere since I don’t gain anything other than my own sense of value through an account. Nikke is genuinely a great game with an underrated story and it sucks it’s stuck as a gacha game.

Seconded. If you play Nikke as a side gacha with no major hopes you're gonna enjoy it but if you look at others user's accounts it's probably that you'll end up feeling bad cause those accounts will "look better" than yours xD

Gacha games are not predatory, they're literally free and the developers are paying for the f2p part who dont spend Gacha is literally the only live service type of thing that works, and its getting better, nikke with the best storytelling of them, the popularity of genshit and honkshit starbucks will be more quality levels in those type of games

@@nivequerI don't think you exactly understand what this guy said. Predatory ≠ pay to win (usually). Predatory games are usually free and give you lots of stuff for free, but they also try to sneak in as many appealing offers as possible. Be it a cool skin, or oportunity to buy 20 Summon tickets, even if you don't need them - companies hope that you'll slip.

My only problems with the gacha skins is as you describe, they are a transformation, they are a transition of their previous self to this newer version of themself. Im about to go on a lore speel to hear me out - Now, maybe Modernia still has another phase to grow before she becomes "Marian" lore wise, and which I think she will actually become a different unique character from "Modernia" which is something cool and something id prefer rather see then this weird blend of Privaty is a different character because of a maid costume, or rupee having christmas outfit as those are different characters rather then skins. story wise Crown and Modernia practically evolved. (Maybe not crown since thats more of a temporary power state she uses once a year, but Modernia def evolved from her child like state too... like a adolescent teenager) thats my only issue with the skins, and i guess SU way of making new character when a skin would of been better, and making skins where a character would of been better.

I am F2P gang. I am enjoying my time with the game. Love the story but it's optional like most of us here are saying. You're not forced to buy it. I have a crown but don't want the skin that's on me. The Marian one, yeah I want that one but that's my problem cuz I didn't play the game around the time she was out as a banner. I'm sort of new, so I don't have her anyways. So oh well. My solution if Nikke will have it. If you missed out on a exclusive one of a kind skin/costumes like this then make it appear in the shop. You'll wait I dunno a week, 2 weeks, a month? And then you can buy it. See what I mean. If that happens then great but it won't happen. We enjoy what we have.

I respect him. Even skins are a part of your experience of a game. He doesn't like Shift Up's monetisation policy, which is a completely legitimate opinion to have, and he's demonstrated that he's willing to vote with his time and money. He's not being toxic or insulting anyone; he's just expressed that this is not the direction he wants the game to go in monetarily. I can appreciate this sentiment. I'm well-off enough to be able to easily afford these (I bought both), but if you take into account the real-world value of this money to the average person, it is incredibly expensive for many when it doesn't need to be. Each skin is the price of, or approaching the price of, an entire AAA game. Shift Up could still make a lot of money at a lower price. It's normal to be displeased with prices when you know they've been set much higher than they realistically could be while still turning a good profit. At the end of the day, Shift Up aren't in the wrong for trying to make more money, and players aren't in the wrong for wanting a style of monetisation that is more financially accessible.

@@medes1062 50$ is (objectively) a lot of money across most of the world, and depending on exchange rates it can effectively cost double, triple or even more in your local currency. Zxous is a good example, although he seems to be well-off enough to be okay with the cost in Canadian dollars. People are always going to dislike it when companies make inconsiderate decisions that make their experience worse purely so companies can milk more money. And players have a right to be upset about this and voice those feelings. The company might do something, or they might not. Either way, actions have consequences and they have to be aware of the emotional impact of their decisions on the playerbase. If money was all that mattered, people would love EA and the recent wave of expensive games full of intrusive microtransactions. But that's not how it works. It's a bit silly to charge a guy $25 for a can of Pepsi because you know he's thirsty and can't get it anywhere else, and then go, "Why are you upset? I made so much money." It's also important to remember that Shift Up is a multi-billion dollar corporation. It's not struggling. These costumes are priced high to rake in a profit, not because they need to be that high. So feeling that 50$ is too expensive -- which is an opinion a lot of the community shares -- is completely understandable. At the end of the day, it's players who are forking over money, and they're going to have an opinion on it (some stronger than others).

Honestly I think the overall best Skins for Modernia was the one I missed out people voted for that was given out and her base skin. Since her cheeks from behind looked good on those 2. This one lacks that and the booba size. Another issue majorly overall: make all past skins available in shop for me to buy at $20. Hell even the other past $60 skins at higher price. Shift up would make more revenue on new players. These prices arent that high compared to Pubg mobiles skins which are $200-400 like the ultimates

I finally got Crown to 3 ⭐️. Hail to the king baby and all that. I just need to wait for Mast or Folkwang’s spare body in the mileage shop and Kilo’s final copy in a couple days or so to clear that 160 wall! This game has only been out for a relatively short time, I bet once the game gets a lil old the exclusive stuff will come back at increased rates to retain players.

in other games u can gacha for the costume with the premium currency for example honkai impact 3rd has a costume gacha that needs12k crystals to guarantee i think? (its 2.8k for a 10 pull) and u even get an s rank selector from the gacha

I don't think quitting because of that is dumb!! Imagine there's a restaurant that serves good food, but the owner is racist and disrespect his costumers. you would stop eating there. what that person is doing is based on principle not because the skins themselves, because in the end of the day the skins don't buff a unit and same for the food. The reddit poster just wants the better for the players and the game itself, to call that behavior is dumb is crazy. I know Nikke is a good game but defending everything they do isn't healthy. but that's just my opinion.

OP is contemplating quitting based on the principle of the matter, and I think that's totally reasonable. It's expensive, egregiously so. And I say that as someone who has all them except Emilia's. It's optional, sure; But it shouldn't be that expensive in the 1st place. I had a similar-ish reason for why I quit Destiny (And that was before it got as bad as it is now). Complacency with how companies do business can, and often do, lead to potential problems later down the line. Unfortunately, Shift-up's pricing extends far beyond just NIKKE. It's a Gacha game problem as a whole. And for a while now, collectively, we've already shown that we are okay with how things are. So nothing short of a unified international culture shift in how we view pricing, will change that. So only option left is for individuals to make a personal choice on whether or not they want *their* wallet to fund the issues they have. That said, as expensive as it is, if we use the prices Shift-Up has provided as a base line, excluding personal financial situations; The only skins truly not worth it, are the ones in the shop, imo. To me, more people should be upset about those still being +$20 dollars. At least with mission and gachas skins, the argument can be made that you're paying for a bundle that *includes* a skin. Unlike the shop's, which for the same price as a mission pass, you get no multis, molds, gear, or upgrade materials. Those should be lowered to $5 to $8 MAX. Still not gonna buy them though...🤣

As for me i would like to be able to buy the skin after the event and as for gatcha costume it doesn’t really matter i just buy what i like, for those who want to buy but still think it is too much it means that you have other priorities and that’s good and all, but if you have skin of a character that you like than just save some money for that and buy it like you buy cigarettes. I personally don't like those skins because of the way they framed them in the plot. Marian generally took almost minimal part in the story of this event, and Crown... Well, let's just say, she became the most real anime stuff among everything in this game. They plotted the fact that she became almost naked and very easily defeated Indivilia, which before that had not been particularly effective in her activities, lol. This skin doesn't look like something that was required by the game's kinda restrained setting, and yet, for some reason, SU added a plot justification for it all. Maybe I just don't like the fact that heretics have become a laughing stock and are being defeated more and more easily every time, but it seems to me that the devs are starting to go too far with this.

I was doing ordinary recruit the other day I summoned 20 times. both times there was one gold aka SSR. Funny thing I got pilgrim for both. I wanted RH since mine is only one star. First one was scarlet Black Shadow, which I didn't own so I'm extremely happy about getting her. However the second one was Isabel which kinda pissed me off a little. I wasn't too mad because I didn't have her. When I saw scarlet BS I was like "OMG let's go!!!!!! yes!!!! finally I got her took long enough (I didn't summon her 4 months ago since I wasn't aware that she was pretty good and also I wasn't hooked to Nikke back then as well) When I saw Isabel I laughed and was like "bruh u for real? I mean come on! I wanted RH not Isabel but I can't be mad at the same time though since I didn't own her" So lots' of emotion was going on right there from being excited and hyped to quickly going to kinda pissed and at the same time I wasn't as mad.

You can tell when Nikke is their first gacha game with a skin gacha system lol, this shiet has been the norm for years now AND the skin gacha is way more generous than many other games. I think the only skin gacha that I loved was from PGR, their gacha skin bundle is actually worth the $70+. I love the gacha skins in Nikke, I buy them but I really hope they can step up and do better with them. Brown Dust II, Azur Lane, and etc are beating them when it comes to amazing skins for a steal of a price.

i kinda understand quitting. if i don’t have money, and i see something i really like, and can’t get it by any means, i rather quit, and not think about it then constantly get frustrated everytime i see the character, and know i can never get it. i does mean the skin is really well made, but also if i can’t get it i would rather spend my mind and effort at something else, since the game itself doesn’t hold much value in general. also for me i bought two skin instantly because it was that good, and i usually ponder should i waste my money. i can see certain group of ppl quitting nikke because how this skin is that good, and most likely never have rerun and you can never get it. if you know you there is small chance small hope, you will keep play it, but no chance again? why get frustrated? it is actually smarter to just quit if it is a game.

Yeah, the dude will have to understand that what you're doing is getting $25 to $50 USD worth of stuff in attempt to get the skin. I also do believe skins need to be buyable and not locked to a gacha for a few weeks and then never see it agian.

No need to announced your flight. Joke aside there's players complaining about the gacha skins when they're purely F2P, even stated that they'll abandon the game which is pretty dumb to me because it doesn't do anything haha. The skins were a major success, when are people going to comprehend and realize that it's a whole bundle with that $50-$60 tag, you aren't only getting the skin for the love of god!? JP is the majority of the funds like 60%+ so they're going to keep selling the bundle no matter what.

People buy it so stop complaining and deal with it is what you’re saying, that’s not very logical as you have to say something for a long time before it’s actually changed or talked about, if it doesn’t matter then why did I and others buy both… could it be because skins actually matter to lots of people? You wouldn’t have even seen this video if he didn’t post that. The fact that it’s talked about is the point, and he didn’t disrespect anyone either he made that post to get people to see it and ask a simple question, are skins expensive or not, it’s really not hard to understand the problem and the skins are a lot more then 60$ for some people.

@@herbertcoxe3601 No, what I said is definitely logical. Have an open mind here, people spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on shoes, purses, figures, fast food, and a variety of other things. There's so many games that sell packs that are terrible but guess what, people buy it at the end of the day, why do you think the corporations suck now with games? The skin bundle that SU added definitely needs improvement but overall it's still a good pack if you like it or not. There's games like CSGO that players literally sell skins for $500-$2k+, literally for a single skin and there's a terrible gacha system from a game called Girls Frontline, you can find about that yourself. You don't need a skin to enjoy the game at all, it's personal problem if you cry about it, you still get the characters which is the most important thing, skin is whatever to majority of players and if players want the skin, guess what, they buy it haha!

If your quiting because of a skin you probably dont buy then who cares. Like lets be real. If you dont buy the other skins for 20 bucks why eould you buy these. And lets be honest the effort put into gatcha skins is a lot higher than regular skins. Shift up want money. Its just a skin. Cry more

Tbh I feel like this should have been a new unit instead of a skin, since this is supposed to be Modernia's new look in the story I believe, so it will feel like we're playing with an out dated version of Modernia... At least with Naked King Crown it's just a powered up version that she can't use all the time so it would make sense for her to not be wearing it lore wise during gameplay...

I do not think it is fair to call them 50-60 dollar skins when what they are actually (usually the final part of) a package that contains 1 skin, 15 common tickets, 10 adv tickets, custom modules + that item that turns into a random t9 gear piece. I am not saying they are cheap, but they are more than a skin.

The only thing I wish they added was 1 core/ unit for the $60 spent on the gacha. Do you imagine , that there is a Scarlet Gacha Skin , and let’s say I was Scarletless and I got 1 Scarlet on top of the Skin for $60 … they would sell out really fast if they did this !!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
