So I'm a 70s kid who played 80s and 90s games. I bought 2 different systems that were supposed to have tons of games but they are mostly foreign and duplicates. I'm looking for a system that is legit and has all of the games for systems between 1980-2000 (at least). IMO this guy took an incredible amount of time filming and editing this video to demo this system and I for 1 am grateful for the time he spent and the information he delivered. Thank you

You should be good to play stuff upto ps1 and dreamcast but that is the best it can do. This is good if u want to relive 80's and 90's games. Glad to see they cleaned up the collection a bit instead of rom dumping. Thanks for the review❤

I had modded my PlayStation Classic Mini with RetroArch and at one point it was even running everything from Famicom to Dreamcast games albeit some slowly), but eventually the system stopped playing the modded games. It still runs the default setup it jad, but the usb drive i had plugged into it no longer was being recognized by the mini console. Not sure what happened maybe an overheating issue. Other than that i have a Raspberry Pi 4 (I had. 3 before it but it stopped working). The concept of plug and play seems less headache free since less input, but eith that also comes some drawbacks in terms of customizing I suppose

The SEGA Dreamcast emulation is really bad (especially on Marvel vs Capcom 2) but yes it's decent on CPS1 games like Alien vs Predator 👍 awesome content once again 😎 keep up the good work 👍

That is really too bad with the Neo Geo collection. Basically a deal breaker for me. One of my all time favorite series is the Metal Slug series. Also I wish more of these types of collections would consider adding the Scumm VM titles. I used to really love playing those types of games like Full Trottle, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, etc. Great review, thanks!

Buyer Beware !!! These android boxes are just not powerful enough for most consoles !!! Either build your own system or pay lots more for the more powerful consoles. The cheaper android boxes usually have several technical issues. Awesome video.

Thanks. Definitely agree. I always tell people building your own setup is the only way you will maximize performance capabilities and also get all the games YOU want. Other than impressing friends a massive game list makes very little difference if you are only going to play a small fraction of what is offered. If you create your own setup you can go heavy on what you enjoy and eliminate stuff you know will never get played.

Are there any plug n play worth buying then? If so what? And do any plug n play have a great selection of ps1 and hopefully ps2? If not is the GMKtec good enough to play the hyper base 4T lite external hard drive that has PS3 games on it? It's only 21 PS3 though hopefully two of them are fallout 3 and witcher. I read some reviews and the GMKtec for 340 dollars possibly has heating issues. The ser 7 looks perfect but its 650 dollars. I would like to get a mini PC between 2 to 4 hundred. And too bad the 5T hyper base mini doesn't have ff9 or I would get that one over the 4T lite because the 5T has way more PS1 games and other consoles similar. But ff9 is one of my favorite.

In my experience with racing games on emulators High end controllers will give you the same experience on N64. you need to go into the emulator settings and reduce the sensitivity of the joy stick to get the N64 games to respond well. I have used Ps4 controller ps3 controller and xbox 360 and xbox one controllers and a Gulikit king kong pro 2 with hall effect joy stick. they all have the same problem with N64 or old racing games in general you have to reduce the sensitivity on the settings.

Hey I have one of these machines just a little different. Android box enuelec and retro arch. So I’m really hoping I can get some help because this is driving me nuts. So I have an android box type system with Retro arch and emuelec. For some reason my sn30pro was not connecting, I got it to connect but the button mapping in retro arch were off completely. So I tried changing it I the settings and messed up the new mapping and now since the mapping is all jacked up I can’t even get back to try to reset it to default with the controller. In the emuelec everything works fine. But once I get into retro arch or a game the controller don’t work any suggestions would help.

This comes with more PS1 games than my raspberry pi 3b+ mine is really hit or miss with N64 games , but I’m sure if I change the emulator that could help

This is cool but in contrast, I have the Raspberry Pi4 which to be fair, is quite a bit less plug and play sonce you have to constantly do a lot of setup, however, with that, comes the benefit of loading in other games: particularly games that might have gotten a fan translation which is super helpful obviously. I wonder is there any wayto do the same here

@@joeg894 you have to go into settings on each game hold start and fix it manually adjust the resolution to avoid screen tearing and also set the best emulator for said game not all games run equally well on same emulator.

Also interested here. The ps5 looking one, you said you had to reset it every time you wanted to exit a game. That’s an issue for me as I will be using it for my youth group at church and need it to be fairly easy for kids to use.

I don't advise buying one. I got a box made to look like NES but under the hood it was a crappy android box with only 1GB of ram. So try to get an hk1 box THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE INCLUDED FOR FREE MALWARE with 4GB of ram fit the ideal experience. All you need is emuelec and game roms. Good luck finding a tv box without malware though.

Some of this emulation is pretty rough but at that price point, it's to be expected. However, I'm shocked at how bad the NEO GEO emulation was. Even going in knowing there'd be some spotty emulation, I'm surprised at how poor the audio was for a lot of these systems. Even some of the ones that played well had some noticeable audio hiccups and I'm not an audiophile by any means. 100% agree with you about the UI. It's not a great layout. I'm not really in the market for any of these boxes but I really enjoy your reviews, man. Keep it up!

Agreed! Neo Geo usually you only see very minor issues with game boxes. Metal Slug will have weird shooting patterns here and there usually due to minor lags but that's usually the extent of it. This was definitely a mess. Thanks for the kind words. By the way your channel is amazing. You are one of the channels that made me want to get into KZbin in fact. @@RetroGamingGuy Thanks man, that's humbling to read. Long story short had some major tendinitis in both my arms that required me to basically cut back on typing and mouse usage outside of work. It's better now but it took about a year for it to really heal up. After that life stuff just came up that got in the way. But I've been working on a few scripts and will be back relatively soon. Recently I've been able to free up a lot of time so I plan on posting way more frequently than I used to once I start up again.

there’s about 1000 of these boxes and they all have massive problems with emulating anything other than basic mame and old classic consoles. you’ll find 1/2 the games don’t work, the other half either work ok or have problems with frame rate, glitching, rendering, 3D, controls, calibration… list goes on

Yeah if it lines up with what you're looking for then yeah it's a solid option. The point is to show what it's capable of and not make decisions for people. I believe it has street fighter 2. With 45k games we can't comb through each game included. That's certainly a common one so I do think it's there.
