I find the video to be false the before and after in my ring and pinky fingers are crazy especially when keeping all my fingers down and the consistency gets better

Hi Mike, a very helpful video as always. My weak point in the gripping hand is the ring finger in combination with the little finger (and of course the index finger, 1,3,4) This combination feels pretty unstable in the 3/4 finger area. What can I do about it, do you have any idea?

Can anyone tell me if it's best practice to keep your index finger anchored down while you're playing say 3 notes on a string? I've never been able to find a video which explains this, and it can be hard to tell from a front on camera. I find myself lifting my index finger to keep myself in time. Unsure if this is a bad habit as I'm obviously not muting high strings with my index finger lifted.

Hi Mike, I am working on my picking hand relaxation for a long time but still strugle very badly.. Today an idea came into my mind that instead of guitar pick, I held a small piece of Iron that weigh around 4 pound and it is easily adjustable into my hand..and then and I picked a guitar and tend like playing guitar licks for few minutes and I again play the same lick with my guitar pick. That time I really felt relax and light weight on my hand.. Can it be a good idea to work on my picking hand? Hope you will answer me

You’ll only be relaxed when you realize that you only need 0.01% of your strength to pick or fret on the guitar. By doing what you’re doing you’re going backwards and not understanding what Mike’s trying to teach you. I know what you’re going through and it’s very frustrating but trust me, you’re supposed to hold the pick and feel that it’s going to fall from your thumb and index finger and 99% of the picking motion should come from the wrist without involving any forearm, bicep or shoulder at all, at least that’s how it should feel, like you don’t even have an arm and it’s just your wrist and fingers.
