Mate as an Aussie who is used to barramundi and mangrove jacks, sooty grunter etc etc I can honestly say my time living in the UK genuinely opened my eyes to the honestly brilliant freshwater fishing you boys have got there. I fish right around the world and I rate English freshwater up there with the best any country has to offer, it's seriously world class! That first Chub bro, absolute horse! And the only Barbel I have personally seen bigger was on the Spanish/Portugese border, think it was called the Guidiana River? Regardless we are talking 10-12 pounders, proper dinosaurs and damn they pulled line! Anyway fantastic video, took me back to my time living in the UK and reminded me just how much better English freshwater is compared to Australia, you boys are spoiled, seriously... love the content, cheers. :)

Great fish big man but couldn't help noticing how you spooked that big barbel with the net. now these are a couple of tips so I hope your viewers don't chew me out again. 1 leave your net in the margin where you're landing the fish. 2 when you are fishing in strong current get the fish above you and dropit back to the net and net it tail to head that way the fish never sees the net. 3 try not to touch the fish with the rim of the net to avoid spooking him, the only part of the net the fish should feel is the bottom when it's safely inside. love your channel as skulking around in the bushes is my type of fishing. Tight Lines

Hi Chris, I'm based in the North west manchester to be exact. Can you tell me please is right now as in late February a good time for pike fishing? I was planning a session on my.local canal but some information suggests that it is a great time while others say its not great as the pike are preparing to spawn, what is your expert opinion on this. Thanks

@@r0binho386 Not new to fishing but in some respects could say new to piking done plenty of it many years ago and always had early autumn down as the best time, but just wanted some up to date info on the best time now. Hi Chris,your the man to ask advice. I had a nice fishing day out ,got a few doubles on the line through trout from the river bank even though the water is usually very clear( river in Ireland) today is was really boggy , anyway the last pike went for the trout but unfortunately it got hooked in the eye,I always take the barbs off but it still damaged the fish as she was a big girl and did a lot of rolling,I feel terrible,I really do. I let her rest and she shot off no prob but I Kno that the eye is probably destroyed. Do u think she'll survive. Cheers. I always watch ur videos.
@Dannny1067 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mick, she may lose her eye, territory and lose some weight over time but should survive. Don't feel bad, you done all you could using barbless hooks. You can get some brilliant antibacterial fish care products nowadays, which help heal wounds. Speaking with a fishery manager, he suggests propolis.

The 3oz tip doesn't have anything to do with playing fish or size of fish it's purely for indication. So would switch to 3oz in a big wind or stronger flow when the tip is bouncing or pulled round by the conditions making spotting bites difficult
