For anyone interested Edward "hacksaw" Jones wrote a book after escaping from 10+ prisons including Spring street. Good book. He was sent there after running off from 2 road gangs (like Cool hand Luke). Really well written including long chapters on the VA pen. Saw his first murder as a young kid within a week. Ended up escaping from the federal pen in atlanta before getting reversals and legally freed.

There is a guy( dont know his name) that wrote a book about being in Prison . He had LIFE with no possibility of ever getting out. (dont know the name of the book) I read the book years ago and he had almost 2 chapters of simply talking about the lost hope he felt from the first few days in a prison cell. Almost 60 pages of what that feeling was. Showing how deep,rock bottom he felt. 60 pages of talking about this same thing. And when you get done reading this,,,it puts you in a place that you can feel how lost and hopeless it was for him. In a way I cannot describe ,,,as it took 60 pages or more to get there,,, with well choosen words that really give you a great idea of how it was. It makes you feel like your in another world with the most lost feeling of hopelessness. I will try to find what book this was??? It is truly amazing. Has anyone ever read this and know what I am referring to?
