Don’t mean to rag on the breaks as Zeeree is a legend but I don’t think you’d have the same outlook if you paid $2800 + tax for your case (8 boxes). At $180/box it’s an amazing product and you’ll probably end up making money on the case with the Sid combined with all other pulls. At $2800 a case you’d have to be very lucky to breakeven and most people can’t afford to gamble with $3k on hockey cards. Even the second box, at $350+ tax you got $110 back + miscellaneous cards. At $180 a box, sure it’s no big deal and a super fun rip. But at $350 plus tax that’s nearly a $300 loss which really sucks. Definitely hit or miss and more of a miss at the current price points.

When you make YT money, and get sent insane cards from fans, you can afford to take “losses” on boxes.

I agree. But, Z11 does disclose his purchase price. And for-profit YT channels that play to the algos are mostly monetized by the platforms, not their boxes. Regardless of the product, once opened, boxes generally quarter in value. That is a basic fact that everyone learns the hard way. This is why I focus on odds not money. Those who do profit are mostly experts or business owners. The broader issue is that gamification of the hobby has crossed over into legalized gambling. And, almost everyone fuels it in an echo-chamber: UD, retailers, group breakers, social media, popular YT channels, eBay list prices, etc. At the end of the day, Z11 is able to enjoy Metal because of how his own finances are structured, at this point in his life. Viewers and hobbyists need to remain savvy and do their own due diligence. Because ya. The math only adds up for a narrow minority. The rest get shilled. Not only that, if non-RC insert cards are being valued at $1,000, ppl are losing the actual value of a dollar. I mean. For that price, buy a new couch you will watch the game in for the next ten years. Not a piece of cardboard, certain to go out of fashion as technology evolves.

@@Fultoncards screw the couch, buy a nice used bicycle or get some gear and join adult league hockey. No better investment than in your own health. Much more fun too! Totally agree with you other than the couch ;)

Speaking of shiny cards, I really (REALLY!) like the Dazzlers this year, from Series 1, 2, and Extended. By far, aesthetically the Dazzlers are my favorite card. Further, can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually get far more excited and happy pulling a Dazzler than I do with pulling a Young Gun--which tells you plenty how my YG pulls went this year (ha ha!). So ya, I REALLY hope they bring back the Dazzlers in the 21-22 packs.

@@whatsthatguydoing Wow: get out of my mind: it's like you're me! Just like you, the best YG I pulled thus far was also a Canvas Young Guns! (Mine was Pavel Francouz.) That said, I also pulled one YG Checklist card, which was kinda cool. Along with a nice looking Rookie Retrospective card, and then also a numbered card called "UD3" featuring Tyler Seguin (Card #48 out of 1000). And best of all: my GF pulled one of the Jersey cards (not game worn Jersey material, but still very cool, plus it's limited!). Alas, I stupidly misplaced my GF's Jersey card somewhere in our home?! Can't believe I did that, so she's been asking me to look for it and find it! Which I will do this weekend. Amazingly enough that was the very first pack of hockey cards she ever opened in her life! We were eating pizza, and drinking a few glasses of red-wine at the time, which might explain why I accidentally misplaced her hockey card. Lol! Let that be a lesson folks: never drink red wine and open hockey card packs at the same time!

@@destinationcentauri Oh, a YG Checklist? Was it the Hughes brothers? That's the one I pulled and have no idea where I put it. Get out of my mind. Edit: I previously made an edit but when I hit backspace it deleted EVERYTHING. I'm not typing all that again. To narrow it down, my best pull that is numbered is an Artifacts Auto 4/5 of Mark Messier. I stopped collecting *cough, hoarding* hockey cards around 2010, I have binders full of worthless jerseys, autos, shiny cards, rookies, etc... a whole binder dedicated to Victory. I miss Victory. For some reason I always want to look at my cards when I am eating peanut butter. Or maybe I just eat too much peanut butter.

If the price were any lower the ssp's wouldn't be selling for 1000's of dollars. The price of the boxes doesn't make me smile but the value of the pmg's, platinums, parallels in general makes me grin from ear to ear.

I like the base cards and the PMG's. I know the Crosby card is rare but I didn't think it looked that cool. I can get multiple boxes of Allure or OPC Platinum for the same price as one $350 box of this stuff. I just can't do it.

I’m all for expensive cards in collecting cards as I have bought some very high end cards and been collecting for 15+ years but wouldn’t pay ten dollars for that sid card. Crazy what people might pay for something so plain even being rare. I like the look of the PMGs much more. Crazy to think that’s worth around the top PMGs but nice pull and love the channel.

Yeah, I’d agree it’s the price that’s tough to swallow. I collected through the 90’s as a kid and I now work for NASA, so this release is killing me… bought having kids, I can’t justify the price tag. $200 or under, yeah I’d buy a box. Also, as a wings fan, why no Zadina rookie???

I went to my shop and i picked a box up for $250 us which is an amazing price. No pmg and my auto was a base colton parayko. But i did get a net deposits laffy along with a premium prospects of laffy

I'm sorry but $350/box is a ripoff. Yes there is some value in there and that Sid was a great pull. But most boxes WON'T have something like that. To be honest, my biggest gripe is with quality control. It wouldn't hurt as bad to pay $350 if the cards were at least coming out of the packs NRMT/MT. It seemed like half the cards had bent corners. I will wait til this drops into the $200 range at which point I WILL buy a few boxes because I do like the design.
