A washplant just gets rid of the bigger rocks and gravel before it gets to the sluice box but there is still a sluice box

I don’t know if they fix this, but I remember hearing that with the gold mining mod if you sell the gold from the sluice box, it’s supposed to be way more than if you smelt it into bars
