The Jaguar V12 uses a GM ignition module, the same that's used in the HEI coil/distributor. The HEI module is inside the ignition box in the engine bay. I assume you can test the installed module with a multimeter. The module is the easiest part to replace as far as if it's an ignition/start/run issue.

I have a 96 XJS celebration edition and I got to say, the 4.0L Inline 6 that’s in it is way better than the v12. Still tho, that’s a cool find!

I would get the XJ-S. I've always wanted one. I used to Small block Chevy swap those V-12s out at Piper in North Miami back in the 80s. Great car.

there is a company that makes a 4 barrel carb intake manifold for that v12, the car wizard did a video because he put a v12 in a 4 door chevelle thats still sitting on his lift after a few years lol. those old volvos are awesome ls swap cars.. there good handling tire cookers with a ls

Due to sheer dumb luck etc, I actually bought a salvaged ‘89 XJS convertible with 120k on the clock. Was salvaged in the NY floods of 2020/2021, not sure. 3 hours of working on it, and it was back to life. Changing the spark plugs is one of the worst things, plus the 3 million vacuum leaks it might have due to the age, also the engine wiring which does not like heat and starts to crack. If you have time spend on it, then get on the train. No major regrets so far, great cheap summer car. Greetings from Estonia!🇪🇪

There's a kit to put a Holley carb on that v12 and Ditch most of the Lukas electrics. The long block is solid, it's the evil electrical system that let's it down

That knock my 06 dodge caravan had its the rod and bearings inside the engine that blew !! It only had like 83k snd sum change miles so i sold it to puddle and used the money to get my 2018 chevy equinox lt with lt1 package not awd !! Ya step away from that rod knock its very expensive to fix ue essentially rebulding the engine
