The Losi 8 rtr looks like hbbywing, and Spectrum came together to make the motor and esc that are in that car. Looks like what we all race every weekend, really. I think the Losi will have an edge on the Typhon. Get one, so we can find out MSM!

I have been racing my Typhon TLR roller with a Tekin system, Shift Servo, and JConcepts finisher body & wing for 3 years now at the Amain Hobbies Silver dollar raceway. I have had many podiums and two 2nd place wins. I have yet to podium 1st place place but with time I will. You can't tell it's a TLR Typon looking at it. One thing for sure is I have to practice a lot. With my Kyosho.MP10e TK12 Buggy is a lot easier to race and it is almost effortless compared to my Typon TLR. I only race it to prove I can do it and podium. It honestly taught me to be a better driver because I had to really drive as perfectly as possible to get fast lap times compared to my race-bred Kyosho.MP10e TK12 Buggy is more forgiving.

Not a bad buggy honestly I like it! I'm a tekno guy myself I can't wait to get the new tekno I got the old 2.0 and I been rebuilding it the last few weeks bringing it back to its original state.i got it from a swap meet. It was kinda rough but now she's nice again! Love it! Tekno has changed my mind for sure!

Update I have upgraded it to mostly the 2.2 parts except the bulkheads and the abcd blocks and the -2mm hubs rub a little on the wheels but no biggie excellent buggy

The steering plate was actually installed correctly from the factory, you only need to rotate it 180 to the "EXB" side if you use an EXB chassis brace which uses M4 screw. The hole on that side is bigger

How's it going Mark. I found your channel a few months back and I've been kind of Binge watching. I just pulled 2 of my Sportwerks Mayhems 1/8 buggies after 20 years. You know lol kids gone. Time to play lol. I pit them away in 04'. I have completely redone them with part 11 or 12 years ago when there were still crazy amount of parts available. I even found a brand new stock body in a box I completely forgot I had. I was on E-Bay and Google trying to find one. And I had one lol. Hmmm. It is the old style buggy body that is flat across the top. She is nitro. I have a Traxxas Bandit I bought in 01'. I just pulled that one out as well. I will be making her brushless like a VXL setup. But for now as a trial I ordered a brushed motor and ESC from Temu just to get her back up. I bought a JR crystaless remote back in 04'. I paid $300 for it. I used it for 2 months, put everything away lol. Can you recommend a remote that is not stupid expensive that comes with a receiver and is a 3 channel? I'm just trying to get back up cheap as I can for now. I have to buy a charger and batteries and, and , and lol. I enjoy your videos brother. I had a mini stroke a couple months ago. It didn't do much but it messed with my memory a little. Other that I'm great. I don't remember if you did recommend one in a video or not. Thank you sir.

good video, sick of everyone saying you need to drop 1-2 grand on a race buggy to have a chance. No need this works just as good, Beginners probably won't even be able to the tell difference. IF you enjoy it and want to have a better experiecne, durability, and tuning to get it how you like upgrade to that tekno. Thats why i did, I love my tekno but my typhon was more then good enough for someone in their first, 2nd 3rd, or even someone thats been racing for a long time as a car. The tekno is just a luxury. Both cars are great but this is easily the better value. Great video. I bet with further tuning and practice you could get it even closer, plus they also have a roller option as you had in the last video where you could throw some used hobbywing electronics in there for about the same price as this as and be even faster then the rtr version.

Whats the standoffs? the bolts holding the shock to the tower? they're 3mm instead of 4mm? Interesting for a basher/race buggy. Could this be modified to take the thicker screws? I'm thinking of getting the Arrma Typhon roller and decking it out with high end running gear. Think that's smart? or just go with a race kit to begin with?

Those EXB STANDOFFS ARE GARABGE!!! they break just as easy as stock! Get the HOT RACING HARDEN STEEL STANDOFFS, you have drill out the shock towers but the kit come with a 3mm drill bit. haven't broke one since. The new losi 8xe looks sweet for a legit out the box racer not a racer/basher mix! I did really enjoy my TLR TYPON though, sold it to a guy yo help him get into 1/8 racing! TEKNO FOR THE WIN!!

What gopro settings are you using for track filming from the drivers stand? I’ve been running a standard Typhon on a track and it’s not as quick as a full race vehicle but it’s still a lot fun after a few changes. Handles surprisingly well for a basher! I’d imagine the TLR tuned one is another step in the right direction.

I have that car. Bought it years ago. Keep breaking all kinds of stuff. Switched to Tekno and it was waaaaay better. But then switched to Mugen and nothing breaks in that thing. Plus it drives so elegant compared to Tekno and tlr typhon. The typhon is not bad if you want a basher that you might take to the track. But it’s really heavy. I think it’s more of a race inspired basher. You can race it but it will cost you so much in parts it’s not worth it. Mugen Seiki is so much stronger than both of these platforms. Plus there is zero setup sheets for the tlr typhon. I hate to say it but it’s not good for racing at a high level of competition. Most of the fast guys here in so cal run Tekno, Mugen, team associated and Kyosho.
