You should have given the white player 2nd place. He was a good ally and progressed the game to break the stalemate. Instead you rewarded the blue bot for disconnecting, which in my opinion is worse than suiciding.

You could argue that if only first place earned rankpoints, after the earlygame any player that did not like their chances of actually winning would have no reason to even try and get 2nd/3rd/4th place and so they would just suicide sooner. Especially since risk games take quite a bit of time, it would not take much before it became more efficient for players looking to rank up quickly to just take the loss and move on to the next game which might have better odds.

It's really boring when the strongest player takes no initiative, but even when I'm the strongest player, there's no point taking much initiative unless you can fully take someone out. If you waste troops manual rolling, all the other players tend to turtle or even attack you, rather than targeting the weakest player not needed for the balance of the game. Most of my games recently have ended with people leaving and then me eventually taking out the last player and losing to the bot that has gotten too strong.

Why did you reward Botting out more than suisiding? Blue was a bot in this game and you gave a player who tried to progress the game the 3rd when someone who left midgame got 2nd. As much as I do not reward suisiding I do not like to reward Botting out.
@Risk4Ever

I would probably take out the botted out player first now. It's just that I hadn't a situation like that anytime recently and I had to make the decision quickly without having too much time to think. As usually it's one of the players suicide on another player without any disconnected players left and I take out the suicider first so as long as I can comfortably do it without risking the game.

The game is rigged for me, because whether attacking or defending I tend to lose 60-70% of the time. This happens in three to four games in a row. In the video, white was able to plow through green in this sequence: killed/lost 14/7 20/21 20/14 20/18 1/0 25/20 25/19 25/17 24/19 5/2 1/1 1/0 1/0 Total: 182/138 That consistent higher winning rate when attacking with three dice compared to defending with two, I can understand. But this always is the opposite for me. Like I said, 60-70% of my attacks I lost more troops than the opponents. I'm 80% sure that if I were in white's place, I wouldn't even get through to Siam from Alaska, even with 200 troops. And this I think is because of my high ping rate, playing from a distant country with an unstable connection. I feel like the RNG thinks I'm a bot player due to this problem and gives me a poor rate. I do notice one time I was breaking an opponent's multiple continent bonus, and I lost the connection. When I reconnected in the same turn, the game was reset to prior to my breaking their continents. So I repeated the process and ended up failing big time. What a disappointing factor this RNG of the game.

the more videos i watch the more i come to the conclusion: if everybody just plays to stay alive the match will never end, besides someone must leave( and this is the most boring wincondition ) wouldend it be better to change the rules of the game? like: even with fixed set armies, maybe there should be a rising bounty of 1 army every 2 full rounds for the one who take someone out? after 1 ppl taken out the bounty resets to 0 again. this will force action and sets a clock to everyone

Some rules or something that games would be less stalemating would be great. Though on the other hand there are already some alternatives, so for example progressive cards, or 70% Domination game mode, but despite them being less stalemating they don't get as much love as fixed cards with World Domination. So I think it would need the developers to exactly find out what makes fixed card games so special for the community and especially the 6 player fixed card games, which are the most favorite in the community, and doing some tweaks, which would make the games less stalemating, to not ruin the vibe of it.
@michaelharbach1987

@@Risk4Ever Any ideas on how they could improve 6 player fixed classic? Fog and Blizzard don't really help from my experience because those games also become stalemates frequently.
@Risk4Ever
@Risk4Ever Жыл бұрын
@@michaelharbach1987 I don't know if it's really possible without changing the core of it, for example there are progressive cards in which 6 player classic map games don't stalemate, but those are not fixed cards anymore, or for example there is a game mode called 70% domination in which you have to control 70% territories of the map, but while it's way much less stalemating nobody really plays that game mode, and it doesn't really feel like "the real fixed card games". I think 6 player fixed card games, for less stalemating, are more suitable for bigger maps in which players get quite bigger troop bonuses and in which they're encouraged to expand more to not get behind, and for me it looks like big maps which continents are neither too closed nor too open are the best, so for example like Europe Advanced or Earth 2209AD. But in general I think people like 6 player fixed classic for what it is. Though maybe there could be made some new rules which would make those games less stalemating, but at the moment I don't really know what those rules could be.

Dude... I can't stand playing this game anymore. I used to love it. But people just blitz you to death just to do it. Dice make 0 sense. Blitz rolls make casualties and consequences near 0 to invade with equal troops or even lower troops. Attackers advantage in balanced blitz is just ridiculous and so is the true random there needs to be an in between. Or tweak balance blitz to run 2 big armies like mine in my last game was like 76 and the dude came in with a 56 and beat me... that is ridiculous and on balanced blitz... oh forgot to add he lost guess what.... 15 troops..WOWWW no way is that realistic haha. Either way people will get maybe 1 troop more than you and beat your army and lose 2 troops when it was like 20v20. It needs looked into and fixed up a bit in my Honest opinion Edit: for reference just for your idea... the minute black had the 40 troops in my game and me being you since we play similar in 2 armies and etc... he would have smashed through and wiped out both my armies and maybe lost like 15 troops max and I would be either too weak to play or eliminated 🤔.... if you could help me out I would appreciate it. Do you have any tips videos or basic understanding of the game you could share that I might be missing besides the stupid attackers advantage stuff Edit 2: look at 8:32 THE MINUTE me as black would do that. In my game white would trade cards and hard stack yo outnumber by 1 or 2 then blitz my 40 and wipe me out the game... happens every time. Feels like I'm moving and running away my army half the time over it.... Edit 3: I can't figure out which is better for what... multiple sizeable armies or one big on? Can you help me understand it?
@Risk4Ever
@Risk4Ever Жыл бұрын
I'm very sorry to hear that... :/ 1) Fixed cards is a lot of diplomacy based, and different players will act differently in the same situation, so it could be important to understand how "to read players", as the same move in one game could be good but in the other one could be bad. I think maybe this video could help you out in which I share multiple different 3 player situations with different type players: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGTEdaxsip1klck 2) I would have expected the white player do the same but luckily for black, white was a grandmaster, better to not make moves which could feel "provocative" to other players. 3) One big army is usually the best for fixed cards judging by my experience, especially if it's not blocked. Unless someone is taking you out, usually other players won't blitz some troops into you, while if you have multiple armies, then other players could consider crushing them if they have bigger armies, especially if they get mad on you. Though a lot of could depend on the individual situation and your general plan.

@@Risk4Ever hey man. I think honestly. I might have figured out a bit of game plans now. I uploaded a stream of like 3 games I'm now on like a 5+ game win streak haha I have a strategy now and found out some flaws I was making by watching recordings of high level and low level players and analyzing the 2 separate playstyles etc. I know it might be much since I streamed it but if you could. Check it out and give me some tips or feedback I would appreciate it

@@Risk4Ever and the way the attackers advantage works makes suiciding or as I like to call it. Blitzkrieging... rewards that bad behavior. I feel like the first 2 invades should give the attackers advantage. After such it should make it fair 3 dice on 3.or just have 3v3 dice overall As it would actually matter and have more consequences for invading make you do smarter decisions. I hear the arguement against this that invading wouldn't have incentive... but it still would have incentive as you get territory cards. You get more troops per 3 or 5 territory. Etc. Idk what do you think?
