First game was karma in motion. Guy got way too confident way too early over a single discard, acted like a bit of a jerk over it and ended up paying 8 cubes as a result. Never assume an opponent is an easy win just because a high utility card in their hand got dumped.

Tried something similar with not much luck, I was sleeping on Squirrel Girl admittedly (Killmonger gives me nightmares) but honestly this decklist is very straight forward and even without Sandman on the board, the ability to swarm and buff is probably the most consistent I have seen from any Patriot/Kazoo deck. There is a variety of play patterns.

I have a variation of this, with electro to play doom t5 then Odin or have t5 Wong then doom or forget about sandman and just go Wong >doom >Odin And there are many locations to get rid of your electro and even swap to the enemy's.

Yeah, that's why most deck recommendations videos of his I skip cause they're always geared towards folks who have the majority of pool 3 cards. They're useless to new and early pool 3 players. Even the majority of the swap options he offers are pool 3 cards. Coincidentally, the only reason I'm here is cause I've been running this deck minus Mystique for weeks now

I love weird patriot decks! Changing a few cards around really throw people for a loop when you drop something unexpected. I have an ultron/doom (doom as backup) that hides buffers behind invisible woman and then Leech on t5. No one expects that from a buff deck. After dropping a buff unit or two and leech ultron is usually able to win on t6.

Very interesting that this video came out today. I faced a very similiar deck, no sandman came out so I can't say if it had it, and I thought the white tiger play in a Patriot was brilliant. Created a version of the deck myself but I'm gonna try sandman and see how it does.

Wong into tiger/doom has always been solid with patriot around. Sandman really safeguards the combo as its one of the few times when playing one card hurts your opponent way more than it hurts you.

I’ve had very solid returns on a similar deck. For my money, I swap Doom out for Onslaught. There’s been plenty of times that doubling out ongoing effects was better than flooding the board. Couple other changes to what you have but this deck is the bizniss.

I really, really tried to make onslaught work in my patriot buff decks. But it's almost always a 'win more' card that requires you to stack ongoing - something you don't want to do in a counter-heavy meta. Even in my ultron deck I have doom instead of onslaught and it's way more consistent.

Fun fact - for the similar reasons mentioned here I use Dr. Doom and Mysterio in my Patriot deck for quite some time. Can't say it's the best, but I like how it plays :)

I don't have Ultron so have tried Dr.Doom as an alternative turn 6 play in my Patriot deck, works okay mostly. I play Cosmo in the Patriot deck, and I've actually been finding some incredible utility combining T3 Cosmo with T4 Mystique and not just Patriot/Blue Marvel etc to block reveals in 2 lanes and protect my ongoing/bigger buffed cards. Full list: Wasp, Squirrel Girl, Mr.Sinister, Shocker, Mystique, Patriot, Debrii, Cosmo, The Thing, Blue Marvel, Dr.Doom, Onslaught. Notably missing Brood and Ultron as a couple of the best Patriot synergies, but this deck seems to hold it's own in a decent number of scenarios. More recently subbed in Abomination over Doom, felt like focusing more power into a couple of lanes rather than spreading and playing for power in all 3 worked out better most of the time.

Started running electro and viper, if I see my opponent wants to play all their cards on turn 5 and 6 I'll just give them elctro and take my free cube or 2

Mystique didn’t seem to get a lot of use. Difficult to use 3 3s in a deck with Sandman. Neither did Wong, if you don’t have a lead and you Sandman on 4, you need an ideal board to only play 3 power on turn 4 and 5. I’ve been using Sandman with high power per level cards (Ebony, Lizard, Maximus), Klaw and Doom. I think I’ll give Patriot a shot synergies well with Squirrel Girl and Doom (which I’m already using), and I really like a Debris play as it helps to counter Galactus.

Quick question: it looks like you have a bunch of 4 costs and sandman would benefit from ramp. Thoughts on zabu?

No real point in Zabu unless you remove Sandman. But Sandman makes the deck fun and can counter a few meta decks. Zabu is really only good if you want to throw down multiple cards every turn. This deck is more like 1 card at a time. Hence the Debrii, Squirrel Girl, White Tiger, Dr Doom and Ultron. One card that brings out 2 or more cards, then some buff cards to benefit. Mystique to possibly dodge a Rogue/Enchantress or best case double up on buffs. Zabu is great for a lot of decks, but its kinda pointless in this deck.

I'm getting little success with the deck, maybe it's becuz i dont know how to pilot the deck yet but i'm getting starting hands where i just draw all the 4,5 and 6 costs and cant do anything on turn 1~3. I assume u dont play sandman then since it provides no value but what do u suggest i do then? Is that just an instant retreat cuz i bricked? EDIT: After i wrote this comment, i've been having some success with it! Stealing 4 cubes left and right and sometimes even 8 cubes. It's definitely becuz i just bricked the first few games and i'm also slowly getting the hang of piloting the deck. Awesome and fun deck. Sandman still feels really awful to play tho.
