Threadripper is the only AMD CPU that supports quad channel, if it only required 4 pin EPS power it shouldn't matter which one was connected most power supplies have 8 pin EPS that split 4x4 and should be used either way as long as the clip faces the latch its fine.

I suppose I meant quad channel as in 4 slots, but I didn't know this... interesting. It had an 8 (4x4) pin, but not only did it look like half of the 8 pin was faulty (or maybe just not seated correctly), the mobo only has a 4 pin connector. Either way, I'm taking the risk and dailying it with my 5900x lol. Surprisingly, its the most reliable system I own, and never has any problems.

@@TheDommino 🙂 yes, quad channel usually means 8 ram slots like you would see on Server Motherboards or high end Gaming Enthusiast Motherboards such as an Intel EXTREME X99

ddr5 is quad channel, since each chip essentially runs dual channel from what i understand.

Yeah that's a steal if I ever saw one. You can buy replacement IO Shields for cheap, and some pliers can bend those PCI divders back in shape.

I saw an ASUS ROG prebuilt on FB Marketplace. Said it need a storage drive. I asked how much and the guy said he had a bill to pay that was $200. It had an acrylic side or a metal side with hole both. It even had a GPU (think it was a 1650), anyway, I put in an SSD and loaded windows and sold it for $400.

🙂 yes im familiar with the model, they were sold for several years with different configurations in it, i picked one up and transplanted it into a Lian Li Case and gifted it to my Brothers Home

🙂 congrats on fixing the pc, maybe next time tell the seller that you replaced the power supply to get it working, that way their feelings are not hurt, thats the first version of the Montech Case which have Fixed ARGB lights that are not switchable, on newer Montech cases they have upgraded the fans to the more standard ARGB 5V 3pin with a standard argb hub controller on the back. that is a montach x3 mesh, its cheap at microcenter for 6 fans. I dubbed it the molex monster in a video i had made. I've never seen that many molex cables connected before. 🎉

@@osky.engineer For sure. If you were just going for a GPU, 3050 is never the way to go - I'd ways recommend a Radeon card at that price point. That being said, this is a price I'd be willing to pay for a 3050 build 😂

Congrats!!! Not bad, I scored once a 2080 Ti 5800x PC with 64Gb RAM for $200 the issue was it was blue screening like crazy and have trouble posting. One of the RAM sticks wasn't secure enough thats all that fixed it.

even if he did scam you and you couldn't fix it, if all the parts individually worked, you would have made a profit selling it piece by piece. the time to do it would suck but you would win in the end.

If all the other parts still work then 125 is still a good deal. Just need to stress test the parts to make sure they work for a long period instead of it just being a fluke.

For sure! This was actually recorded in June, and I ended up replacing my laptop with it at one of my desks. Has to be the most reliable system I own at the moment, and I'm writing this reply on it now lol

I actually used it for one of my main PCs. Gave it my 5900x and 2060. Taking a risk with that only 4 pin CPU and wrath cooler, but it's been the most reliable PC I have. I can make a video on it if you'd watch 👍

Lovely Uno Reverse, with the seller scam attempt, its worth so much more than $125. How did you tell the cpu power was bad, did a pin or plastic have burn marks or did you just randomly try the other 4 pin cpu power and everything worked ? With the fornite settings you had 66% resolution and then had dlss on top, wouldn't that mean you're effectively playing the game at very low resolution and thn massive upscaling it back to 1080p. Wouldn't a better benchmark be just playing at 1080p native with no dlss ? I'm sure you wouldn't be able to hav settings anywhere near Epic if you did.

@@rathstar Yes, sir! As for how I found the issue, I just checked everything. Eventually I came to the CPU power, and so I just switched out the 4 pin that was there and it worked. I played with Epic settings with DLSS, but Fortnite just shows the 3D resolution DLSS upscales from. For example, I played at 1080p and DLSS quality made the resolution at 66% of that (I believe around 720p), and upscaled it to add that antialiasing look just with better FPS. Let me know if you get it, not the best at explaining 👍

I have a hard time believing the seller said it booted because he never showed this posted or messages stating it didn't post. I think the EPS was not pushed in all the way or was really loose and probably posted at sellers house but loosened on the drive home. I have no doubt the seller is kicking themselves because it was an easy fix.
