This is just my opinion. In Episode 1, I think Sunjae didn't commit suicide but it was this man (killer) who did it. This man pushed Sunjae making him fall to the pool. Remember, someone was trying to open his condo unit and I think this killer did it.

it was his manager that was trying to get in. It was also heavily implied that he took meds before committing s*icide. That's the original timeline. The 2nd timeline is where Sol was able to change his views in life and he survived and was healthy. In the 3rd timeline, they were in college and he figured out things on his own and got involved with KYS himself, and the final timeline was the one where Sol chose to not meet him at all just to keep them both safe. You can watch it again it's really not that difficult to figure out. 😊

Now that I know about his character, I will ammend my statement. But at the time that I had only seen 2 episodes, the 2 antagonistic characters was the jealous swim team guy and the on again off again romantic counterpart. Love can make you do strange things. So does perceived betrayal, which can result in retaliation for a dual perceived stab in the back. BTW... I'm glad you responded. It would have taken me a while to find this and correct it. I was beginning to look for it so I could add to the story.

@Ina.xo- It was personal with her. At first it was a random opportunity. She rode the bus out to the stop and he fixed his compulsive need to kill on her. But then the old man stumbled out of nowhere, and he had to divert. He did not take that well. Next time he had the opportunity and missed again. The rage of his prey escaping and his inability to gain the euphoria and closure from killing was eating away at him, consuming his thoughts as she was his fixated obsession. The one that got away several times. Then she was rescued mid- murder. He could not take that so now he focused on the guy, so by killing and disposing of her knight in shining armor, she could be dealt with easier. But he still tried to isolate her and finish what he had started. First it was opportunity, then obsession. I have read and watched many, many shows. Also I have personally been stalked. I know what she has been through.

Serial killers are Psychos and they have their own logics which doesn't make sense to us

We saw that he took his meds, but we also heard the doorbell. And he had no reason to jump in the pool if he was just going to overdose himself. So I'm pretty sure that Sun Jae was killed in each timeline, and that's why he couldn't live until the killer was dealt with. It's just that in the first timeline, Sun Jae was depressed and probably didn't fight him as much, so the killer made it pass as suicide. (That's what I understood. Especially since he met Sol just before that, and she thanked him for being alive, and he was looking at the candies she gave him for a while. There were just misleading us at first, like kdramas usually do, and I think that was really well done)
