I'm Peruvian and in our currency, IAPs are expensive as hell. And that's not all, the prices are even inflated! Hello? TGC? My country is not full of rich people, you know? I can literally pay Internet, energy and water bills of one month with Journey's pack price. I'm not really addicted to cosmetics, too, but this is really unfair for many other people :(.

This season is horrible and they know it, not filling the tree with cosmetics is a big factor for most players. After the nest season they were already planning to fill the tree Trees with decorations for the "nest", this season has only shown how much TGC is leaving aside the players' opinions to become even more greedy, Having more IAP items than cosmetics in the pass makes it not worth buying. They really have a lot of time to make amazing cosmetics but this time it wasn't the case 😓I myself will skip the season and maybe just buy 1 or 2 IAP items, but the pass is not worth it which is a shame. I will collect the candles from this season and wait until the next one. 😢😢😢

I don’t think tgc has much of a say in what’s free and what’s not. The moomin company seems to have a very strict IP, and most people don’t seem to even think about that side of things

I've been playing this game for over four years now. I'm genuinely thinking of quitting for good. TGC has turned this into a pay to play game, and it's not even casual player friendly. So many bugs, so many GAME BREAKING bugs too. So many events all at once, practically forcing you to pay for candles or play every single day without fail, for hours at a time. I'm tired, I'm broke, I'm sick of the FOMO tactic (VERY shady business tactic.) I'm just..done. I'm so upset that my favourite game turned into THIS.

Tbh I don't think it will go as far as to stain the franchise's image and don't feel too bad about the IAP, this is just a game after all. If the price of the IAP is too high, don't buy it. There are a lot more ways to interact and connect with your favorite Moomin character than paying for cosmetics in Sky.

@chad8061 I never said it wasn't a good game (hence, I've been playing since Enchantment) but I can assure you, they make plenty of money. For a new player to get every iap for days of mischief, it is $198 USD, and they add multiple new ones every year. This is the same for all events. 1 or 2 free items, and then 3 to 4 iaps. That would be fine if they were cheaper, instead of $15-$25 an item. Like I said, I'm hoping that leaving the game for a few months will make me not as angry. I'm sure when I come back, I can learn to love the game again

Good on you for speaking up about this! The cosmetics being separated is a really strange move for TGC. I get they need to make money and all from a business prospective (especially since collabs are expensive), but from a relational perspective, this leaves a sour taste for us Skykids 😢 reputation is just as important to take care of aside from money.

I started playing Sky, on my free time, 4 weeks ago. Idk if I'll keep playing this game. KZbin just recommended this video for me, I'll subscribe to your channel and watch some of your videos. I'll leave my opinion about what you said in 4:35, if you're interested. You seem to have plenty of items on the game, so one bad Season may not affect *you*. What about the other players who have nothing? Did you tried to take a look at the current state of the game by their perspective? Wasn't you just "addicted to costumes" as them when you started palying and had nothing? How will beginners "get a life and socialize" if people just bows and then runs from the "Moths"? ("Moths"? Does veteran players see beginners as worthless insects in this game?) I saw some problems in this game: Those 9 variations of the default pajamas gets boring really fast, IAPs gets very expensive in some country's currencies, this game lacks male costumes, they overprice regular candle stuff to prey on FOMO and waiting for a specific Travelling Spirit to return may take months or even a year... (People want stuff ASAP nowadays. Is Sky a waiting simulator?). People have good reasons to be mad. One of the main things in Sky is to collect stuff, right? If it was just to watch stories, its better to watch a show on Netflix or Crunchyroll. Yes, everybody needs to make money but nobody supports/invests on bad stuff. Nobody wants to buy a bad overpriced product. If we can't keep the old clients and neither attrract new ones, our business will fail. How does someone sell if there's nobody left to buy? If we like something, we want it to get better, right? So please, don't defend their mistakes and neither take sides with the greedy corporates that don't even play the game, they just care about money. Take sides with the players, is the community who really cares about the game and keep this alive. If a game fails to please its playerbase, it will progressively lose more players and will eventually die.

I agree with literally everything you said. The only thing I don’t agree with is the moth thing. It’s a term of endearment. Like how Chinese players call new players sparrows. They are called moths bc they are small, have brown capes and go into the adventure have it be dangerous or not like a moth to a flame. (Hence why in Aviary shop there is the moth and sparrow pack) But going back to what you said everything you said is 100% correct. The only people who say this doesn’t matter and who say it’s just a game is the people with cosmetics. Their greed has been clear for a long time now. The TGC people have made us subservient to cosmetics. I feel bad for those people who are today's Moomin viewers who will come to play this game only for Moomin, they too will fall into their trap, and you know what that trap is? Collecting candles daily, whether for seasonal items, traveling spirits, or old events for cosmetics. Despite that, every month a new event happens out of nowhere and buy most of the good cosmetics from IAP, and after that, they will go to big events or in live interviews and say that we have made a game that brings people from different countries together, our world is lovely, and we have made a world record.

I'm disappointed. I understand TGC In their quest to fill the spirit branches with items for the Nest, but... Isn't the season about the Moomins? I mean... That most of the cult items (sorry if I say something wrong. It was too much of a disappointment for me that the Snufkin costume is paid) for a donation, and such things as donations in Sky are not very popular. I'm glad that at least the hairstyle, cape and tent are not for a donation (meaning a regular donation, not a pass).

Im not interested in music instruments, nest decorating or socializing since i am a solo player. This game is becoming a waste of my time. Your parents probably think there are more important things in their's and your life than the season pass and that's okay. In addition you would be required to play every single day and buy every single item on the tree. In addition your parents probably think think you'd ask for more IAPs or worse, get them off your parent's credit card yourself falling into a trap of never ending money loss and resulting in both you and your family's debt. They want you to have a life outside the game and prepare for actual future stuff. So they think that "seasonal pass junk" will prevent you from having that future. To you these items are beautiful things that you see as worth getting. Calling it "Junk" is a bit rude, but this is probably their point of view. Now one thing that might help you is if you're not going for the Ults you don't have to get it, as everything else from the pass will return.

Disclaimer that will explain a lot Before I state the disclaimer, I will say that this does not justify the actions of TGC in any way. Nor does it qualify as defending them. I am only here to provide nuance and explanation to this situation. -All collab seasons have special IAPS to pay off royalties to the IP, moomin is no exception There is a strict level of what can and what cannot be free with collabs, as if it resembles the IP too much, then it can't be offered for free. With bigger brands, these items are often the ones with often with the most resemblance to that IP. -E.g. TLP, Meteor jacket, resembles a special outfit the prince wears, special Little prince outfit that resembles another outfit the prince wears -Aurora IAPs resemble outfits that were worn in real-life music videos instead of spirits made for the story. Snuffkin having popularity -Snuffkin is one of the more popular characters in moomin. His hat and his robe are the most iconic parts of him. it would not be snuffkin without those two things, however Cape is not a snuffkin qualifier. -Having the hat and robe be in the IAPs follows the same pattern of items most resembling the IP being in the IAP section. This doesn't justify the actions of TGC but it does explain the why some of snuffkin's cosmetics specifically are IAP, and explains how this treatment isn't new, but only more recently noticed. I also see your side in all of this. Players were able to complete a character's look via the pass alone and not need extra IAPs, this changed with the season of moomin and that makes people upset. However a big issue has been pricing as while they have stayed the same throughout history, we end up seeing more of them at once. In addition regional pricing, where you respect the power other countries' currencies have, is not present, even though the currency differences are. This can make things worse for everyone. As for Viz's statement: One one hand I get where they come from, on the other, they're missing a lot of nuances. Yes, sky is a long term game, and there are lots of items to get. And you don't need to have outfits to enjoy the game. However fashion throughout human history has had many social uses beyond protecting from something. These social reasons include (but aren't limited to) following, rejecting, or even rebelling against social trends and norms, hiding or expressing aspects of identity and the self, sharing heritage, and showing or hiding your status. Clothing in Sky and other video games is no different when it comes to social reasons. You are at a point where one bad season isnt the end all be all for outfits. You're at a point where you arent limited in expression or are fine eith what you have. So to tell players, who are limited by outfit expression, to the point where they can't express themselves, "hey if you wanna express your identity in a social video game via clothing you're addicted. Step outside touch grass and get a life." Kinda misses a lot. Video game companies will use this desire to express to get us to pay money, it is up to the players, up to us, to decide not what the devs think it's worth, but if what they have decided is worth it for you

This happened with cinnamoroll, we only had two free items and the rest were paid, because they had a very strict IP. Normally I don't care about IAPs, if people want to spend the money on something special then good for them. But I've been a fan of the moomins all my life, especially Snufkin. And his outfit has always been an inspiration to outfits of mine in sky. So I'm very happy about this season, at the same time so disappointed that I would have to spend like 30 € if I would want to get all the Snufkin cosmetics. What? That's WAY over the top.

Not to defend TGC especially in light of recent events but… Collaboration seasons are just that collaborations therefore most of the decisions aren’t made by TGC but the holders of the IP TGC is collabing with, making this season a ‘pay to win’ was also a decision of the IP holders of Moomin which is quite sad regarding that previous collaborators were so much more generous I know TGC is also at fault for ruining this season’s financial and cosmetics aspect tho

I don't know anything about the costs in the past since I started maybe 2 years ago and went on a hiatus in the middle of it. But I am also a F2P player for Sky and Gacha games. I will only spend money on sets or seasons if I think its worth it and have the extra money. I don't necessarily see too much wrong with this because I already have this mindset but I am also not knowledgeable about it. I think it can be an issue because there is too many characters and items are spread out, I can see why it's frustrating for many because you might not be able to get all of them, and it does suck. I never get all the free items in a season, only he ones I REALLY grind for.

Here is a hint: There has been an update to the ultimate rewards The pendant is still there (kinda has to be cause proof of purchase) The umbrella is there The moomin plush has now been added to the ultimate rewards section Finally Ninny's red dress as been added as an ultimate reward with the invisible moth/default outfit being a limited IGC item at the top of the quest tree. For those who are curious about whether to buy a season pass, only get it if you really want the ultimate gifts. Everything else from the pass will return in due time.

Well, I am glad I personally never heard about Moomin before this collaboration news. I am not a fan at all otherwise, I would have felt shitty too. But, it's saddening to see such a huge shift in ways one can get cosmetics in sky. Earlier, season pass was meant to be a guarenteed way to gain all cosmetics but it was still optional as good free cosmetics were available too. Now, season pass is not enough, you gotta get IAPs for all items? So much talk for a company that says they want to make a wholesome game and avoid microtransactions like in other games. Isympathize with those who wanted to get these cosmetics because they like Moomin but can't because everything is now IAPs.

As someone whos been playing sky since January of this year i dont think im going to join this season. I was thinking about joining the season, but i feel like it would be a waste of time seeing i was mainly after the invisible girl cosmetics and the umbrella. But most of her cosmetics, like the cape and shoes, are iap, and the outfit + umbrella is the ultimate reward. The only free thing from her is her bell. Which is pretty sad. Tbh im just gonna skip the season and just grind for both regular and seasonal candles since seasonal candles can turn into regular candles at the end of the season. i was really excited to join, but now i'm just not anymore :'

Idk, Moomin content I have seen online is expensive in general. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, but even in AliExpress it's not wallet friendly. Because I havent seen any cheap Moomin items, I had already assumed this would be the case for the upcoming season as well. I have been playing Sky for a year, and I play to disconnect the mind while doing candle runs. I do enjoy the slow burn. I am proud of all the cosmetics I have acquired with regular candles in the span of a year.

Instead of making IAPs cheap like 0.5-2$ so a lot of players will consider buying them, they make them expensive as hell so way less people even think about buying stuff. 10-20$ for some cospetics? Excuse me, i can buy a whole GAME that i will play for 100+ hours with this price or few kilos of meat i'll eat for a week, not a few pixels I'll change away two weeks later. That's really dissapointing. Idk who's sitting in their selling department, but seeing how they insert more and more "buy please" that feels like their income decreases, makes me feel they are getting paid for nothing.

im literally done what im gonna do is i will save moomin seasonal candles and chill with friends and buy stuff from travelling spirit thats it in tht way i wont be broke at normal candles atleast 🥹

I get the feeling that TGC is escalating to their own "Eye of Eden" circumstance if they kept continuing unaddressing weightier matters, and attending to their own fancies like waves of the sea tossed and driven by the wind.
