Hi nick, Future reference instead of those plasterboard fixings youve used .... use the fischer red and grey plugs 6mm i promise they are the best plugs ive ever used the weight capacity of them are great especially for big lights. 100% better then those steel plasterboard fixings

Probably not great for a fitting this size, but I always used to get the bracket up and then tie the fitting to it through the grub screws holes using a bit of 1.5 singles. connect the light, then cut it away and go to offer it up, bit of blu-tac on driver to hold grub screws (at a push, bit of waterproof compound if no blue tac - but it makes a mess if you are not careful!). For fittings with less than ideal connections fitted inside that sometimes cant be moved (often the CPC is a tang on the metalwork), I'd often pig-tail it with a few inches of singles, which would get dressed into the enclosure as you fitted it back. Fixed wiring from ceiling prepped into large connector blocks prior to bringing the fitting up (and with wagos its even easier).

No need to get the zs at the light fitting. You should get the r1+r2 + ze to save you erecting the scaffolding again

That tower is something else! I know that some people think that H&S has gone too far, but the slightest mistake and it is bad. Regarding end of line, surely you would add Zdb to R1+R2 and confirm your live test is within tolerance?

😂 get a set of Zarges three ways, they’ll get you out of trouble on plenty of hard to reach places. Would have been able to hook the rings on the top and support the weight whilst connecting up 😂

Hi Nick. Was wondering how you guys run cables above office ceilings or faulse ceilings. Here in NZ we use cheap insulated cat wire thats easy and cheap to install. And you can cable tie TPS cable to and add lighting points. How do you install cable above cielings? Cheers.

If that offer of some free stuff is still open maybe you'd have a word with Anker/Unilite for us? We use a battered old UPS and garden lights at our lock-up at J14 as there's no electric, and it's on its last legs.

That's definitely a US light. For us that would be just the wires sticking out maybe pre-stripped and then you would twist them together and wire nut with the cable feeding it. It's almost like they said if we throw this connector block on here we can sell it outside the US and China.

7:45 I know it's been a while since I've done a hula hoop but I don't think that's how you're supposed to do it. It amazes me that lights are just screwed to the wall/ ceiling in the UK. The US we have to have boxes behind them Code approved boxes, but that also means they're fire retardant and have room for making electrical connections.
@simonbeal2148
@simonbeal2148 4 ай бұрын
the plasterboard provides a fire retardant barrier and plenty of room in that base of light fitting
@imark7777777

@@simonbeal2148 true about the plaster. I was thinking more like the boxes are made of fire retardant material they're not just standard boxes. More importantly making room for connections and junctions.
