Awesome job! Happy to see one of these brought back from the dead. 😊 Error 26 is when the cartridge or the security chip aren't connected/improperly connected, so that's expected since it looks like you didn't have a game hooked up. The issue with the picture is probably because of the incompatible video signal. If you try from the VGA connector to a compatible display or scaler, it'll probably display properly. If you get a Network DIMM cartridge you can boot games over Ethernet from your computer. Might be easier/cheaper than sourcing a GD-ROM drive, a DIMM, and a compatible game.

you have to run a 5455 xblade debug bios with bodge wires and resistors if you want to run a genuine debug bios. I did the same repair on my channel half a year ago. I can share the bodge wiring if you want to. there's also the possibility to run a modified xblastOS for MCPX X2

To my knowledge they only made 2 different type of chihiro's. Type one had an identical upper unit as the naomi network interface. The one you have is a type 3. They all had a fan on the gpu and the boards are basically close to debug xbox boards. The original bios needs the base board and the front filter board connected. Often the dipswitches on the front filter board work badly and this can cause a frag as well. Another problem can be the detection of the video avip cable. If that has the wrong settings it won't boot either. So a composite cable simply doesn't do the trick.
