This is my first comeback with Enhypen. I was aware of who they were because I-land was popular among my classmates like, almost 3 years ago, but I didn't exactly listen to them until recently because of Polaroid Love. Tbh, I probably wouldn't have caught interest in them hadn't it been because of (1) their B-sides, (2) BTS visiting I-Land in that one episode, and (3) Kim Sunoo. It's so exciting to be part of this comeback, and I really really love all of the songs in this album. I love Sunoo's vocals in this era too! He has a lot of center parts in the tracks, and his deeper vocal register is very attractive. All of them did phenomenal, no mistake- but Sunoo (and Jake!! Jake in Bills, to be specific. Jake in Sacrifice too!) are really shining in this album. Heeseung is forever slaying, yes. I seriously love the style that's a little more mature. My favorite track is Bills ( I repeatedly played it again and again after hearing it. Jake, Jungwon, and Riki weren't lying when they said Bills was a good song), and I love headbanging to Karma lol. Chaconne and Sacrifice are the perfect side tracks to a strong title track like Bite Me. Again, Sunoo's vocals in Chaconne and Sacrifice caught my attention. I think he really shines in this album. Bite Me was so new, and I am in love with the incorporation of that partner dances. Won't spoil it more, but Bite Me is just so new, but it's also just addictive for some reason. Lastly, Fate is really the perfect intro for this album. It's the perfect mix of allure and suspense, and so I forgive it for being a shorter track :") Love that I saw this reaction! My (for now) favourite has to be Chaconne. There’s something so deeply creepy and disturbing about it and I love it. Since you asked what ‘Chaconne’ is: The chaconne or ciacona in Italian, is a dance with a double life. When it first appeared in Spain in the late 16th century as a transplant from the New World, it was a quick-tempo dance song, where the texts were mocking and the dance movements suggestive. In this song, the song is about how the sound of the chacona enraptured the singer and if even a monk or nun heard it, all prayers would cease. Chaconnes were known for using female dancers and couples, while passacaglias were known for using male dancers. In regards to the song form, the treatment of the bass line differs. In contrast with the chaconne that maintains the repetitive bass line in the bass voice, the passacaglia has freer use of the bass line. A chaconne is a song form popular during the baroque era. It is characterized by a repetitive bass line ostinato called basso ostinato, continuous melodic variation about the bass, and a slow triple meter. Enhypen’s songs meaning according to their Naver post a couple days ago: 1. ‘FATE’: a Renaissance-style pop song that dramatically captures the narrative of a boy who finds his awakening by realizing his fate; 2. ‘Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)', an alternative R&B track about the boy pledges to sacrifice [himself] for his counterpart after getting awakened by his fate; 3. 'Chaconne', a song that depicts the boy getting drunk & corrupted by his own dance; 4. 'Bills', an emo hip-hop genre that compares belated regrets and sufferings caused by a lost love to bills; 5. 'Karma', a song that melts the plea message of ‘Please don’t forget that you and I are fated even from our previous lives’ on top of a punk hip-hop track.

Bills is a metaphor about having to pay with regret, time, and tears for a break up. Like Niki line, he thought it was paid (he was over it all) but then he got hit with an invoice - meaning he still had lingering emotions that he had to deal with and pay for.
