@angel.matina. The conch(aka shankha) has to do with energetic vibration ( as any sound is a form of energy itself). I think, you've to understand the rituals with rationalism and science. Just consort of Vishnu or this and that is a very simplistic and superficial explanation. Also, a person who blows the conch and the people who hear are transcended through sound vibration and that is the same effect from different mantras as well. They are causing transcendental effect on the person physically and psychologically as well.

The guide gave tourists misinformation that I did not like. Because everybody is allowed to enter the Pashupatinath temple. But Only Hindu people have faith in the Hindu god. A person who follows every religion like Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity has the right to enter Pashupatinath. There is no burden. So don't give anyone misinformation about our religion and cultural heritage.

I saw your video and realized although she tried explaining it better see could but personally i thought it was incomplete (unintentionally). The horn you talking about is called "Sankha(शंख)" in the old days where no means of communication were there this is the sound to indicate some is dead and to signals the surrounding and neighbours to gather for the rituals. (Or the starting of some aspecious/cultural events like Puja at home) As there is a saying in Nepal "Bihe ko janti, Marda ko malami" ( You must earn people for Marriage and your death to be with you ) and the tradion of Sankha is still on till dates.

I wished she had a guide whose English is fluent and can explain properly the rituals. The guide tried to explain why the fire starts from the mouth of the deceased but she couldn’t explain really in English. We do not have the body exposed to the fire in Guyana. Wood is put over the body to cover it and then the pyar is lit.

Lots of love from Nepal , you got beautiful soul , stay blessed.
During end-of-life ceremonies, when the Shankha is sounded, it makes everyone stop and think deeply about life. People feel prompted to pray and reflect on the fleeting nature of existence. The sound of the Shankha is believed to have a special power, like a spiritual cleansing agent, which helps to create a positive atmosphere and protect the departing soul from any negative influences. When the deceased is dressed in saffron yellow garments, it carries a significant meaning. This color choice symbolizes the idea of sannyasa from Hindu philosophy. Sannyasa is about letting go of worldly attachments and surrendering to a higher spiritual path. By dressing the departed in saffron yellow, it signifies that they have embraced this idea and are ready to embark on their transcendental journey beyond the physical realm.
