The “sayounara” bit is actually pretty cute. In Japanese “sayounara” has kind of a finality type of vibe, so friends don’t really say it. They usually say “mata ashita” (see you tomorrow) or “mata ne” (see you later). So that bit between them at the end was just Ayase solidifying that they’re actually friends 🥹🥹

Fun fact Turbo Granny is an actual modern japanese legend, she's supposed to be driving a car at highspeeds in the Hyogo prefecture highways, she appears at night to haunt reckless drivers forcing them to crash and run them off the road, which is why in the show when she first showed up Momo told him he was supposed NOT to run away from her

Nah dude in hoody is right for sure. Aliens used psychokinesis against Turbo Granny on the ship which is what unlocked it for Momo as well when they were using it on her. Definitely meant to be a switch up on their interests. Okarun gets ghost/spirit powers and Momo gets Alien powers. The biggest thing that I feel shows it not to be a spiritual power is that Granny Seiko doesn't know how it works and is asking Momo how she does it. She might have known general ways for her to maybe train it using her own experiences as a medium, but she didn't seem to think they were real before either when Momo originally explained she had them.

my lest favorite part of JJK is the implied friendships between everyone. Like, we only get those wholesome moments in intros and outros, or they appear in flashbacks. DanDaDan makes every fun time with friends in the moment, no implied bs. JJK pulled me out of anything emotional w/ the trio bc their fun moments were so short. Gojo and his bff really hurt, because they showed them actually be friends, ya know. I'm very excited for more cutsy, silly, and emotional scenes between the friendgroup in DanDaDan

OP is the best thing so far. Everything else has been mediocre at best. Even the soundtrack just seems "modern pretentious", as in "look how cool we are with our weird music choices". Characters are boring and sticking to established archetypes (not the creativity I was expecting), powers are uninspired, idgaf about the world or setting (just modern Japan). Animation isn't even that good, its better than fn Blue Lock but that's a low bar. I keep giving it chances but the episodes aren't getting better.

i watched upto ep 6 when it got leaked. just seemed pretty mid. frankly very surprised looking at anime reactors thumbnails of them being blown away. out of all the new shows this season i think trillion games and uzumaki is a better watch. hopefully studio gek watches blue lock too, since they seemed to like sports anime like haikyuu.

There is a fan speculation being shared right now where the reason why granny took his pp is because he's a male, which is the same gender of the suspects who unalive those girls. But her taking his pp actually has nothing to do with his gender and the gender of the people who vayo-lated and unalive those girls. Granny can actually curse both genders. it just so happens that okarun was the one who got cursed by granny. And her talking about gobbling his pp is just part of her foul-mouthed personality, which adds a bit of humor to her character. Also there's no mention where all of the suspects who unalive those girls are all male. She also ask okarun if he wants to suckle her teats, which a person who dislike men would never ask. It's just part of her foul-mouth personality. And another information that is being shared right now is the reason why granny entered the phone in episode 1 is because granny tried saving momo is purely a fan speculation. The truth is, it's just a scene thought by the author of thinking on how he can make momo encounter okarun in his cursed state and momo being saved from the aliens. And the fan speculation would get immediately destroyed if people remembered that granny have been trying to unalive momo since episode 1 and almost vayo-lated her in episode 3. Her consoling the spirit girls is just to make her image look better for obvious future plots that includes her. So the point is, there are scenes where you don't have to think too deeply about the plot and there are crazy fan speculations. But in the end, just enjoy the show.

I definitely see all that, but I disagree with the part about how the "suckle my teats" line is something that would never be said by someone who hates men. Sexual harassment is not always directed at people because the person doing it likes them in some way. Plenty of people say things like that to people they dislike because they know it's terrible and they want to treat that person terribly. There's plenty of men out there who hate women who'll direct sexual comments at women they really despise. The inverse can also be true. It's honestly very easy to apply it to the headcanon that Turbo Granny does what she does out of a twisted sense of vengeance because you could easily argue that she says perverted things to dudes because she wants them to know what it's like to feel the kind of terror and discomfort that so many women feel when they're targeted by predatory men. Fan speculation isn't anything more than fan speculation, but I think it's a bit silly to say that there can't possibly be any connection between Turbo Granny's backstory with the location-bound spirit and her actions when we meet her. The former can still inform the way she acts without necessarily being her driving motivation or a part of a moral code that she has. It's very clear that her whole deal is mainly just her being foul-mouthed and outrageous, but I think it does a disservice to the author to assume that he just picked a backstory at random to show her in a more sympathetic light, and that there's no way he came up with what he did because he knew it'd pair well with the wild behavior we've seen from her in a really interesting way. We can never say if one or the other is true without confirmation, but I think there's merit to both interpretations. I'd honestly be surprised if a mix between both weren't true. _(I absolutely agree that people are painting her as way too sympathetic/justified; she's never exactly subtle about wanting to hurt other people in general at the start of the series!)_
