I agree. He said at the beginning that it had a code violation, but that area, especially with the fence around the property line, looks like it belongs to the city and is their responsibility to maintain. The city is also responsible to make sure drainage ditches are clear.

Great work guys. Appreciate what you do! Quick suggestion though, keep a can or two of Safety Orange spray paint in your truck. That one section of sidewalk that was buckled gives way to a major trip point. Looks like 3 or more inches of height difference. Spray those joints so that pedestrians can see it while walking. This also gives the city a visual indicator that maintenance needs to be done there.

The City can impose notices and fines for private lots and property, but public sidewalks, paths and parks are their responsibility. So you guys are doing the work that City Employees are getting paid for. Shame on them and good for you. You can't tell it was a disaster before you got there. Always perfect work guys.

Most sidewalks are the responsibility of the landowner, rather than the municipality. However, they could be more proactive in fining, etc.

Amazing transformation! As one who pushes a stroller with loved grandchildren, I am uncomfortable when I have to go off the sidewalk because of cars parked across the sidewalk or grasses like that making it impossible to stay safe and off the road.
