@@all_data_deleted5464 LW is fine just he's basically a heal only support so he requires the team to actually pop off and has less he can do offensively then an ana or bap. Nothing wrong with there being some supports that are just there for big heals. Pairing with an offensive healer like zen is often a good combo for balance when playing LW. Honestly the only bad thing I normally see with some people playing LW are some questionable pulls but many are really good. LW's playstyle just lets you focus one thing.

Btw, I get that it's hard to balance heals and damage on LW, which is why I think he will be stuck in silver for a really long time, because he relies on teammates to do the elims. Which is why I think LW or mercy aren't good picks if you're hard stuck metal.

Reminds of when I was chilling in QM with friends during one of the first seasons of OW or so and I had to play healer. Our Rein kept flaming me for "not healing", as he mindlessly charged in and hoped to survive somehow (Even with both healers pumping everything at him he'd die). I thought the guy was trolling, then, I checked his rank, and I realized it was just pure brain rot. Good times.

This Lifeweaver made a lot of good plays and had really quick thinking. A lot of those pulls were really good, like pulling in the Sleeping Ramattra and saving the teammate going off the map. I also liked the play at the beginning where they put the petal platform down when they heard the Junkrat tire for someone to escape on. Sometimes the pulls seemed a little trigger happy, but that’s something a lot of Lifeweaver players struggle with at some point. But overall those life grips did a lot of work.

@@nocfox3050 Oh for sure haha. Saving the pull for the exact opportune moment is such an annoying thing to see because you pretty much doom everyone else in those types of situations. So if your LW accidentally pulls you into a Junkrat trap a few times because they’re eager to pull… all is forgiven hehe.

In case no one mentions it: No, LW did not pull the reaper into junk trap. He was already in it and was just givin a moment of invul with bubble. You can see that the trap did the snapped animation before the pull.

I dont play LW so I'm not qualified to give advice, but overall, I think they played really well! nice pulls, good trees (just maybe slightly later than ideal but still good), good positioning. this person will climb no problem :)

Still, this Lifeweaver was doing their job like a champ. Not just healing and pulling people on cooldown, but also using tree in different ways depending on map location, trying to use petal to assist teammates and isolate enemies, attempting to regulate heal output to keep people up more frequently instead of going for full heal every time. I don’t fully get how to play Lifeweaver, but this person did well

as a gold lw myself, i was honestly impressed. this lw was not only surprisingly aware of positioning and extremely good at surviving (only died, what, four times? and twice bc they knew they couldn't get out so they died on cart to reset), but also fantastic at keeping teammates alive to the best of their ability (a few eager pulls, some missed opportunities, but being in the same position, i probably would have made much the same decisions). i absolutely agree, that dumb dps was 100000% the one at fault for how many times they didn't get healed or died.

I played lifeweaver alot for a while and it taught me that when im playing with a lifeweaver and they pull me is to stop and think "why did he pull me.. what did he see that I wasn't seeing" and it often saves me.. Its a reflex sometimes to just run back in with the "kill killl kill" mentality and you forget about things like LOS and if you need to fallback

As a tank main who will occasionally play dps, I can understand running in SOMETIMES because that tank mindset (one time I genuinely forgot I was playing Junkrat and went in with Sigma mindset). But the DPS just kept running in and was WAY out of position. The Weaver and Zen were playing just fine and were doing a great job keeping most of the team up, though the weaver could've been a liiiittle more agro a few times there. But overall the supports still did a damn good job keeping the team alive aside from the guy who died 21 times. Had fun watching this one! Was a real treat to wake up and have my morning coffee while watching this.

Even still just running in isn’t really how you play tank eother. You still gotta be tactical about positioning all the time for the most value. Ya go for elims but do so in a smart way. I will say that my tendency is not to dive enemies but to take spots that I know are spots that I would control as a tank, and then realize my tank is off in narnia on the flank so I can’t even hold ground the way I want to.

At the beginning of the second stretch when you say he should have thrown one or two heals to the reaper to his left, you also have to consider that the reaper was his only teammate who was standing within 5 meters of a health pack. That was 100% on the Reaper’s lack of map awareness and over-reliance on supports for heals.

Hmm... Weaver usually can put out lots of healing over the course of a game but it's slow heals and you gotta adjust to that. If you know it's gonna be LW/Zen, adjust your own playstyle before you blame the supports. Edit: wth, that was a good game. No idea what that dps player's problem was. Pretty good LW play!

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but after watching this, it's a a pretty clear cut case of "everyone sucks but me" mentality. It's much much easier to blame others than to look in the mirror for even half a second to see what you did wrong. Only thing that can save that dps player from being a permanent citizen of the spawn room is some self-awareness (and maybe some aim training too).

REALLY well played LW. There’s two pieces of feedback I’d like to give. 1. Be conscious of your tank’s defensive Cooldowns/ult. There were a couple times you pulled when the tank dropped low for a moment, but they popped Nemesis form, gained a burst of Armor health and access to block. Not ideal. This goes QUINTUPLE for if they pop Annihilation or Primal rage. 2. You can afford to poke a little more. Obviously not as much as you could in a GM game, since your teammates’ positioning is obviously going to be worse, but there’s a couple spots you can pepper a little damage in safely, rather than sitting on a fully charged healing blossom and slowing yourself. Good luck now that Illari is in comp, since she and LW is a good combo

as someone else said, you can't heal stupid. as a metal rank support main that doesn't play as often as they should, it's incredibly frustrating to have teamates that play completely out of position, and have no clue where their supports are. then IF they finally get to your los, they'll spam strafe and jump in the open, and die from being spammed by their entire team while you're mid heal.

At 27 min someone in the chat said that LW silver only dealt damage when the tree was active. Well totally right, LW is a support with inconsistency in damage and consistency in healing, so a great combination are other supports that focus on damage (zen in the case ) while he is more focused on healing, while the tree is active he can focus more on damage, due to the tree healing and creating over health. Honestly this LW can go out of silver easily by duo with another support more dps. he has confidence in what he does and seems to know the hero, one advise for you is to ult to dictate the rhythm and Don't wait for something to happen, make it happen.

As a constant 76 user, I cringe upon seeing the player going on close range. CLOSE RANGE. With a long range weapon. Weaver gets the Support medal for even Pulling Cass after the Hog Hook grapple (I got thrilled), the effort they placed was shown here. Back to 76, who switched a lot and still getting downed easily and still blaming Supp when their positioning was terrible - a problem that they should reconsider improving. The LW was pretty good, just has to capitalize on petal a bit more as well as be aggressive with tree and thorns too (surprisingly accurate at mid range if you know how to aim projectiles) and honestly they can get gold easily (with good dps rng too of course lol)

i just lost a comp match where my main dps, playing soldier bastion (typical) went 15 kills 14 deaths. I, playing zen, almost outdamaged him, and was serving hot shit, playing what he wasn't. He started shit talking me after he claimed i wasnt healing. These players are something else. like, after your third 0 kill ult, please go to a doctor to see if you have pulse.

I've seen diamond lifeweavers play worse than this so keep going espesso p.s you stagger hard sometimes and you're not as aggressive but like the other supp is zen so it makes sense he's not dpsing as hard when they can leave that to the zen. Overall I really liked this lifeweaver would definitely like playing with them if they're not toxic (some players are pretty good but also toxic as hell)

im a new and low rank player and I like playing LW but it's been a terrible experience so far because this behavior is so common. Of course I make a ton of mistakes myself as well, but often you pull someone out when they're gonna die and they just run back to where they were and die :( Still super fun hero though, and when it works out people can be really happy that you saved them :D

A lot of players need to change how they view life grip. They end up seeing it as an inconvenience instead of something that’s meant to help them. Unless you pull them back from falling off the map so often people will be upset that you grabbed them even if it was to save them on critical, keep them away from the enemies, help their positioning, give them high ground, help them stay with the team, etc. They always see it as you getting in the way of their oh so masterful play and don’t consider you’re just trying to heal them, so they just run back to wherever they were before only to meet the fate you were trying to save them from. That’s how it is with LW unfortunately.

Just a trick that might help you in the long run: when the enemy tank is a Roadhog, Ana is a must pick. You can bait the suzu with an easy sleep dart, then you can anti the hog - this gives your tank a MASSIVE advantage, and usually a win. Good LW gameplay tho, keep it up!

Honestly I enjoy playing Lifeweaver with Genji cause I can pull them out if they're in a pinch. I usually focus more on my Genji and have my other support focus the tank and other DPS. Obviously I'll still heal everyone else but I still try to keep my eye on the Genjis plays mostly. Only thing I can say is to use the petal a bit more. Saving yourself with it or lifting 1-2 teamates above an ult + your pull is so nice.

In my opinion, this lifeweaver is amazing. We do have to realize it's silver, that being said I think he should be at least be able to get to gold. I have had countless of times in bronze, where a lifeweaver troll pulled me. I even had 1 game where a lifeweaver purposely kept pulling me as widow while I was aiming shots from a far range and there was nobody in the vicinity. They just wanted to harass me like wtf. I instantly reported that guy. He kept searching for line of sight on me so he could pull me for no reason, so eventually I just stayed out of line of sight and hid myself because otherwise it was unplayable. It's hard to have to focus on your teammember not annoying you and trying to headshot people.

My only nitpick is at 13:24 I would've probably been closer to my team seeing that they were pushing up. Being on top of the blue sign board or even on the low ground near it might have provided vision to save the soldier and definitely would have put you in range to actually heal the team. Overall the gameplay was really good though and made me want to play the game again haha.

one thing that changed my wl gameplay: DO NOT RELOAD, the seconds you waste reloading can be crucial and you can use his changing the projectile type thingy passive to reload without needing the animation time

Overally good gameplay but some things for people who are in similar situations and are trying to climb. I understand the struggle with your team always breaking LOS with you and that genji/soldier was helpless. But in general, its easier for you as the support to adust your LOS to the rest of the team than them to yours. Find positions that allow you to adjust you LOS forward or backwards as needed to keep the team up and able to fight instead of expecting your team to come to you. Not everyone is savable, but a lot of the things I notice is supports like their spot and dont want to leave it, even when your team is up a pick or two.

And I personally only shoot low health enemies or choke points with weaver, because his projectile speed is so slow all of the thorns move like a round of buckshot and bursts the enemy out of nowhere. If you poke they just strafe and its impossible to hit

As a main support that plays LW its best for us to stay back and save our pull for real danger, if an attacker like this guy keeps going in thats on them if they want heals they beed to know when to get back to the team or just die honestly, if u are someone that wants to keep flanking then u need a ana or bap cuz they have more heal range

Also lets not forget the zen, although LW/Zen comp does seem wild their zen was during well with getting picks a couple times. LW pulls zen at one point and zen finishes off the ulting genji so I mean tbh this dps just expected heals and not actual supports

My first encounter with Lifeweaver was on my team, and I was screaming "NO!" when I was pulled somewhere else. Turns out I was saved from enemy's push lmao

As a support main, I can tell you that Lifeweaver had no other option but to healbot. If he switched off to do some dmg even for a second, his team would roll. His DPS' are allergic to cover, didn't know health packs existed, and are overall just horrible players. Often times you can't climb out of bronze or silver with these type of teammates so your best option is to switch off Lifeweaver, which gains much more value in higher elo, to a Bap or Moira which has more heals and is able to assist with some dmg. Illari is also a good pick since Bronze and Silver players often ignore the healing pylon allowing you to act as a 3rd DPS.

I dont expect much heals from lifeweaver but there was that one time a mercy was pocketing the genji while the life weaver was keeping everyone else alive, he had double the mercy's heal

When playing with DPS players like this, who are obviously just a liability to the team, supporting them should be a low priority for you. Don't intentionally let them die, but also don't waste your cooldowns or important resources on them, Just focus on your other teammates first and top up the other guy occasionally, if they aren't in the middle of the enemy team.

i just started playing overwatch 2 again and this is something that i tend to find myself doing as mercy, if you are doing barely any damage i tend to not damage boost you, if you are constantly running in with no escape route or plan and get killed because of it while im full healing you i probably will focus on keeping the other dps support and tank topped up if it means they can do better in a fight, i understand that in low elo lobbies everyone struggles and the tanks tend to struggle the most because making a mistake as tank gets the team killed or put in a bad position and dps making a mistake can make it hard for support to keep them alive and vice versa with the supports struggling to keep the team alive if we make a mistake but i tend to find that prioritizing the tank or keeping your other support alive if they are low is better than keeping a dps alive if you are all making mistakes

got stuck in silver for a hard minute and lemme tell you a lot of dps players down there cannot make an impact unless you pour healing into them. had a match me and my coheal rounded up to 40k on a payload map. both of us were almost double the other supports. real wacky stuff.

I have currently 70 win rate with Lifeweaver. I hover mostly in gold and Plat 4. I hate everyone when I play him. Feel like I have to pre heal 24 and 7 to just keep the tank alive.

Well, that’s kind of the point of life Weaver, right life Weaver can be in the back with a better perspective on what’s going on in the fight, and when that player gets a little bit, too fired advance gets out of position is in danger because they didn’t pay attention to what was going on around them whatever you can yank them back Instead of trying to heal them through a bunch of damage you can just yank them back throw another heel on them, and then they can move back into position. They can see how they were out of position. When you yank them back, give them a better perspective on the fight that’s kind of what life Weaver is best at staying in the back throwing heels from a distance, has a really long range DPS when he can use it, but more importantly, has the ability to grab you and pull you out of danger when you have ignored your surroundings and gotten out of position that’s more than healing that’s life reversibility is to get people out of trouble. Keep your team, alive more by yanking them out of a bad situation, then by trying to heal them through it because his heels suck, they take too long if you got the full heel just try squeezing the trigger then he’d be OK but you gotta charge for like half a second every time to get that full heel

I'd say this Lifeweaver deserves a promotion. They're trapped with a bunch of idiots that are charging into the enemy defense and get punished for being unable to stop them. Put them with a team that knows what they're doing and I guarantee they'd be at least gold, maybe even plat.
