If you are considering making the lot Industrial, don't add the wind generator or the solar panels. There is a generator that increases the industrial footprint, and it works with the new bugs or recycled parts.

I started a rags to riches and my sim found a Fabricator while dumpster diving on the first day. Not even broken. Her life just got easier. No shower, but she has a fabricator! Love following your series!

So now I feel like a complete idiot. It’s not like I haven’t been playing this game since the sims 1. I am old enough to be everyone’s Gram! I started out in story mode, and actually got the civil engineer job track. So it seem’s I might have had the fabricator in my possession already, or got it soon thereafter. Sorry for the misconception there. On a side note, I also have the erratic trait. Sure makes things interesting!

Just hit the menu button first in build/buy mode and it will just stop lagging once you resume it. Then when you go to live mode hit the menu again then resume. Thats what i do

I've only been getting lag when it snows, but my sims want to just stop tasks whenever they feel like it, even if it's eating and they're starving, and even if autonomy is turned off. I also got a moodlet for a fire well before the fire started. I never had the fire pee issue, but maybe this is related. And now my vampire insists on using ladders. Before, it was just my transporting magician that had to take ladders instead of teleporting, but now my vampire is doing it too (he's set to always fly as a bat). Morgan stole Caleb's computer, and there's no active sharing initiative anywhere (and Morgan's not a clepto). Never a dull moment. Someone even stole my bug farm.

hi James! off-the-grid notes: 1) to add ice to your fridge, you will have to have a specific off-the-grid friendly fridge 2) there are new off-the-grid recipes you can cook if you get an off-the-grid friendly stove or grill! 3) consider also getting a fireplace, then you can catch and roast fish :)

JAMES! You should care about the good reputation thing. The better that is the better your relationship starts when you introduce to new sims. And you get an influence point for achieving higher levels of friendship. So instead of 4 influence points when you introduce yourself to new sims you get more!

I think that the larger world for bikes is actually including a feature that many players miss from the Sims 3: open worlds. In the Sims 3 it made the game laggy because every lot was active with items placed and it low-key broke the game. Instead they're now creating unplayable houses with a few lots sprinkled in between to give us the open-world feel without breaking the game. I think it's absolutely genius!
