I've been doing my makeup like this for as long as I can remember. I've watched and tried a lot of other hooded eye videos over the years and haven't found any that fit me. I remember when I was first learning to wear makeup and all we had to go by were Teen Magazines and the tiny diagrams on the back of the eyeshadows. I'd get so frustrated because I looked like a clown trying to pack all those colors where they instructed. Eventually, I put down the magazines and my inner artist came out. After a lot of trial and error. I'm glad to see someone else validating the "slop-on, swipe-off" method. Just go with the canvas, the color will follow! 😊

Mine were hanging so low I could see my eyelashes when I was reading! At 68, Medicare paid after me getting the test showing what I could and could not see. There was an extra part of the procedure that Medicare wouldn't pay for (because they consider it cosmetic) and the doctor told me right up front about that but he said if I don't do this part of the procedure you won't be happy with the result! So we paid the extra and I was glad!@@dizzieblonde2010

Although I disagree with needing to build up your color (you can simply begin with the darkest shadow you're going to use & then apply/ blend in a lighter, complimentary shade above, and that's all you need), I applaud your simple method and love how you explained it. The rule of thumb is, most of the time, the fix is a lot simpler than you think it is. It only looks & FEELS more complicated because you're failing to accomplish something.
