I did this with a pair of work boots when it snowed here when I was working outside in a timber yard. I used the self tapping ones you use for steel roofing sheets they worked really well in the snow and ice. Thank you.

Cody, I had studded Nokian boots in the 80’s, probably still have them around. But, like wearing corks, you find yourself transitioning to surfaces where you don’t want to tear up floors. In the day, Loggers just swapped to their romeos when coming indoors. Your screw method is easier to swap back than studs or corks. But this issue is probably why slip-on ice creepers over normal boots have remained more popular.

Ok according to google they are good on slippery rocks but they are not great for ice because snow can accumulate in the felt bottom.
