Could I possibly crank up the input gain on the maximizer to make a bit “louder” or would that mess it up

So good to see you.. Now that we both are back on the Reason Train (Im Still Beta Testing), any updates to your default S/R stack (Interested to know what you like and how you leverage those 8 "universal" options)?

Me too! A lot of things I want to share with y’all aren’t compatible or it’s more complicated to learn in Reason.

Best video on reason ever!!!! Ive always struggled with mid side compression in the DAW realm.... Cheers - Dan

Thank you! It was hard to implement in Reason at first. I found a cool way to do it. You could use Fab Filter Pro C or other VSTs with mid/side features as well.

Wait, question; Doesn't the 4ms LA, Attack and Release only pertain to the Limiter? I thought the solf clip was it's own section. Lov ur videos by way.
@KickbackCouture2 жыл бұрын
Nope! It looks that way but it’s got “secret” abilities.
@hikkivillain60092 жыл бұрын
@@KickbackCouture I could not find any difference (using a parallel channel with inverted input) between the settings when the Limiter section was off. The 4ms lookahead button of course makes a difference, but it's a simple delay.
@KickbackCouture2 жыл бұрын
Applying the 4ms gives the Maximizer more time to catch peaks so there’s no hard clipping. That’s why you hear a small delay. Sometimes it helps, sometimes you may not need it. It shouldn’t sound different unless it’s catching transients it missed otherwise.
@hikkivillain60092 жыл бұрын
@@KickbackCouture The Soft Clip function does not make use of lookahead, soft clipping is sort of a saturation effect. Lookahead only matters for the limiter. I checked that lately, there really isn't any difference.
@lpinnch2 жыл бұрын
After doing a few Null tests and overcoming an issue with delay compensations with the mclass device, I can only conclude that when u do engage the 4ms look ahead while the limiter is turned off, there seems to be a small audible difference (noise and clicks). Now whether thats a bug or is something usable to an audio source, well that all depends on the ear of the listener :). Learned something new about the classic device!

First off, your 808 is crazy dope. I haven't heard anything like that lately but wow

Thank you! It’s a Bass Guitar plugin. I had to go to sleep in order to wake up with the idea for the bassline. 😂 I guess I dreamed about it.
@knotdone52922 жыл бұрын
@@KickbackCouture I've woke up in a cold sweat for the same reason 🤣 that bass plugin is nasty for sure tho. I use ample bass for Lofi. What's your bass plugin?
@KickbackCouture2 жыл бұрын
Waves has two bass plugins and IK Mulitimedia has some Moto banks as well. They’re really nice!
