The issue isn't that sleep mode exists. I use a bunch when I go afk. The issue is where it's placed because when I want to leave a game (and I'm on console) I always press sleep mode instead of leave.

Sleep mode is a good option but… they did it wrong. There shouldn’t be a sleep mode button, it should just turn on remove you from whatever you are playing and have you sit out if you are in a party. It’s meant for people who may leave for long periods of time or accidentally fall asleep

I enjoy using it to be honest, I know you could "sit out" before, but with this, it allows you to sit out, not be bothered by voice chat and on console, it stops it from switching off. And then you can just rejoin the conversation whenever you like.

The actual reason for it is it draws less power when in sleep mode, meaning less stress on servers (which adds up when you have like thousands of people doing it) and causes your pc or console to be in better health because it’s not drawing a lot of power anymore which also decreases electricity bill, it’s mainly useful for console players cause consoles draw LOTS of power for Fortnite
