Sometimes vanishing listings were accidentally listed as auctions instead of buy it now in my experience. This has happened to me so many times 😂 Make sure you check your auctions! Because when you search for your listings, it only shows buy it now listings!!! You have to select auction.

I highly recommend that Large letter untracked idea. I buy my padded mailers from Aus Post X1000 at a time for a price of $440 works out to 44 Cents a Bag. Gives me the opportunity to sell games and dvd's $5-$10 and still make a profit on it

I heard the missing listing thing has been happening to a lot of people lately. Yeah games are definitely a good seller. My ex just gave me his entire collection of PS3 games to sell. I reckon there's over 100 games in that tub including some good $ items. They sell super fast too. Keeping me really busy. In regards to using untracked letters, I suspect ebay sends more traffic to your store because you do send many things tracked. Might be a good experiment to see if your sales decrease using untracked. I send most of my low value items untracked, but sometimes I think it hurts my sales. I have had a few lower than average sales days when I only list untracked items. But if I list parcel items, sales pick up. I could be imagining it. Thanks for the fully loaded episode. I like how you talked about the missing listings, did a what sold and a trip to the thrift. It was a real treat. Thanks mate. Is that a SKU system you're setting up there?

That happened to me too! I ended up having to do a massive inventory and honestly I was shocked. Ebay should give some sort of a notification that the listings are about to be removed.

This mystery of missing listings, is easily explained. When you ‘sell’ an item and it isn’t paid for, it (the listing) disappears, vanishes, into the never never! Check your sales for the missing items, with the sales volume you have they should show up as sales, (unpaid for) that are easily missed. Those unpaid sales, I watch and as soon as the sale is gone, cancelled, gotten rid of, I make sure to re-list!!! Just that little extra bit of work to save mountains of hours searching for the “missing listings” later! Patagonia

Hey Matt. Those $2.80 untracked envelopes are working really well for $10-15 dvds that weigh over 125gs like one off tv series. Today I sold my first ever DVD set that I bought off ebay cheap. I was comping a set of Sharpe, saw one at a .99c auction that goes for $40+ & made a bid. Got it for $5.88 with post & sold for $46. The best in the last week was a sealed copy of season 5 of Packed to the Rafters for $69, paid 50c. Interesting to read in the comments that canceled sales may be those dropping off. I need to check that out, had maybe 6 of those so far. Great video mate & Patagonia!

Hi, I'm a recent subscriber, found you from The Ultimate Recycler channel comments and enjoying the content. i have some DVDs and games to sell and wondering what you'd do to clean them up, discs and cases are dusty and grubby from several house moves, dirty fingers perhaps etc.. have you covered "detail for retail" or similar ways to clean things up? grubby shoes etc. Thanks for sharing this type of content and it's good to see i'm not the only one seeing a change in spending habits this year.

I post games and dvds untracked, $2.20 or $3.30 depending on weight. Expensive ones go as small parcels. That’s me and it works for me. Rough call on the Xbox bundle, but you’ll make that back with the Minecraft game

I noticed if you have auto re-list set to items that aren't paid for ebay say they will be relisted however they were not. Happened to me before I cancel all orders manual now. Good video man

Have only been selling on Ebay for about a month. Thanks for all your videos and a couple of other youtube ebayers my first month has gone pretty smoothly. Thank you for all the info - very helpful. Started by selling my stuff in the shed. Star Trek DVD sets been a bit of a winner. Only have 1 clothing item for sale so Patagonia would double that category. Just about to adjust some cds that very little veiwing on, good tip to check out the slow stock.

Best to check the buyers 'feedback left for others' before posting video games untracked. A shear curtain in the garage would be good for privacy. You can pick them up cheap in op shops. Eyelets and hooks on a spring cord are easy to put up

Another great ep. Good tip on the tracking. I like the 'insurance policy' of the tracked envelope because I can b sure the item arrives. But you may be right. On the smaller priced items not much risk exposure. Love the constant tips in your vids mate! Legend

The first time we did the full stocktake there was about 15% of our listings have vanished. We can’t find any pattern to it and eBay have flatly denied it happens🙄. I regularly go thru a box at a time now to keep on top of it.

Just a question - I have never been able to send dvds/games in the medium tracked envelopes - post office wouldn’t let me due to them categorising it as rigid plastic (fine print on the back) but apparently you can. How do go sending w/o bubble wrap or padding - any complaints about damage?

I'd personally try another post office, never had issue with sending dvd/game in those. 1st time at local one lady said it looked over 2mm, I just nicely said I measured it, she ended up checking & it was ok. she just went "oh nice work, your right" & same lady sorta knows me now, never checks. I've also sent about 120 in padded non tracked, had 1 go missing, no complaints about packaging.

@@mrboobyhead I did attempt to use them when they first came out years ago, several different places all saying I couldn’t and had a big debate with my local about that and what I could send in them and the larger cardboard ones. I won on the cardboard sending dvds etc - at that time they were trying to say I could only send paper/documents in both (?). Haven’t attempted again since but I will give it a go as they have lot of new staff now - see how it goes - thanks for the reply

Hey Matt. In my experience, the "vanishing" items are normally always due to someone buying the item, but not paying for it. If you search through your emails (provided eBay sends you an email confirmation after something is sold), you can probably find confirmation that way. As for sending without tracking, that's how I do it, but eBay will demote your listing, regardless of whether it is promoted or not, so you need to factor that in, as well as all the commenters telling you that you will get nothing but "Item not received" cases 🙄. Roger Moore! He lived near us for a while when I was a child (in England) he spoke to me and was very nice, at that point he was the lead in a program called 'The Saint'. I have noticed the odd listing dropping off over the years. At one point the photographs disappeared from quite a lot and I only find out accidently. I usually have around 600 listings, had a clean out and dropped below 500 and am now listing all the 'new' stuff I sourced on my trip. I was away for 6 months. The store is sarting to wake up again :) I haven't found much in the way of athletic shoes for ages.....I post DVDs under $12 in a padded mailer (Ipicked up aroud 100 a while ago for not very much), untracked, it's not worth it otherwise. Patagonia for $6, good score :)

Patagonia. I know you listed that phone for parts, but what if the buyer manages to get it working? Do you worry about personal info being accessed? I have a Wii bundle sitting in my garage and I don't want to list it until I clear the data lol. I don't have much luck with DVDs/media. I'm not keen to put them in the tracked envelopes as they have no protection and risk getting stuck in the sorting machines. If you've had no issues there...that's lucky!

Hey bud. I've recently started listing my $10 and under dvds with the untracked postage option, with the ability to add tracked postage for $2 if the buyer wants that. All I can say is, at the moment, they are going untracked as this option is never taken. Yes, 125g is the weight limit for $2.20 postage and 250g is the weight limit for $3.30, but I think only 1 postage has gone over the 125g weight limit so far. I have not turned on international postage for video games. I'm a but worried that I send the game, and if it does not play on their system, how do you handle a return? just my 2c worth. Have a happy.

At the very real risk of preaching to the choir lol, I've found that standard DVD cases that have a decorative promotional cardboard sleeve can be shipped in a standard DVD size large envelope (the same thickness as a tracked envelope), usually at $3.30 (with the added weight being over 125g). It only comes to 18mm thickness so straight in the big red post box she goes. Decent difference between three stamps vs small satchel or small box price.

I think it has something to do with using the phone app. I haven't noticed any dropped listings but I have found photos dropped or descriptions completely missing. Even though I know I did them. It made me wonder if it is the phone app that glitches. It may explain your predicament..... and makes me think I need to check my old listings.

Yesterday, I walked into a store & there you were kneeling down, price checking a bunch of boxed DVD sets & I thought DAM! I'd just missed out. Next I went and saw something else that I was interested in, but a little old lady was taking her time examining, so I waited....but she took it. I left without buying anything. Today, totally different story, went somewhere else & they had all their DVD's priced at 10 for $1, and another shelf of PS2 games. I asked how much the games were & she said same as the DVD's, so walked out with all 14 of them & 1 DVD for $1.50....I know nothing about games, but it's obviously time for me to learn. A few sell for over $30 each, so a great score there.

Yes, Ebay do clear stuff after a while, so keep an eye on your Unsold page, which will stay there for at least two months, some times three months, good luck, from the UK

It amazes me at the amount of DVD TV seasons that you are moving. Here in the US they are almost worthless due to streaming services, occasionally you will stumble on to one that isn't streaming or is "in-between" streaming services as they often move from one to another when the contract is up. Are there less TV seasons that are on streaming services in Australia? I'm just asking purely on curiosity.

I don’t think streaming services have anything to do with buyer behaviour for DVDs. They’re a collectors item for a lot of people. Abit like a vinyl record. Hard copies of favourite TV shows is the reason I believe they keep selling. I was actually inspired by a lot of American resellers to give the dvd category a go given there success of it over here so don’t give up. They’re out there over there

Yea I noticed some vanishing listings too. Regular stock takes are the answer. Thing is every business does this! I remember being a stock taker with the scanner rocking up to Kmart to single item scan with the army of scanners. If the big guns have to do this then so should we little guys :) great video mate

$9.70 is standard rate for small tracked satchel. If you're using My Post Business, depending on what band you're on... you'll get it cheaper. I'd say Matt is on one of the higher bands with the high volumes he posts so gets small satchels posted for around $7
