This SmallRig Battery Is INSANE!

SmallRig and I made a camera battery together and it rocks! The SmallRig Caleb Pike VB212 Mini V-Mount battery is available here: geni.us/smallrig-vb212
This 212Wh V-Mount battery has two USB-C PD jacks that can deliver up to 140W of power each while also give you 12v, 8v, dual D-Tap jacks, BP jack and an extra USB-A jack.
Charing from 0-100% only takes 2 hours over USB-C and the battery can still be used.
This was a collaboration between SmallRig and myself so the battery comes with my Signature and channel name on it as well as a 240W USB-C signature cable.

I love the VB99 Pros, I have two, but the main issue with them is that is advertised on the website that it supports charging multiple devices at once, but once you plug in both USB-C ports to charge other products, the USB-A port stops working and cant charge anything. Besides that, perfect product.

Does you 99Pro power button - powers off the baterry while the cables are plugged into it? It seems in my case in order to stop the draw of power i have to phisically unplugg all the cables from the baterry. the power buttons does not do anything while the cables are connected. Whitch makes it very impractical during a shoot. and doesnt bode well for the longevitiy of the ports. becase i find myself constantly plugiing and unpluging cables from the battery. Not to mention thet fact that turning the whole rig with one button was one of the reasons i bought one battery to power all of my rig at once.

@@telfer3388that is right! Unfortunately that is another issue that I found with the vb99 pro battery. The only way to solve this right now that I could think of is buying the CineBack from Pike or RigidPro that have a on/off switch. But that will work only for the d-tap connections. I think that a switch button is a must and they missed it.

This is such a good product. The VB99's were already amazing and everything v-mounts should be. Having high wattage PD USB-C in/out is a game changer but all the extra improvements and little things like wattage displays is so cool. Hoping this is available in Australia as even though I'm totally happy with my VB99s I'll be picking one of these up too

I got the battery and used it on a overheated lighting setup with a Aputure 60x 100% at 3200k for 2 hours and it still had 2 hours to go,love it!

It looks very cool, but I do wonder if it has use outside of a fixed studio environment I just got a VB99 Pro which seems to be this exact battery, but smaller and with one less D-tap I'm not sure what I would need that extra D-tap for and the capacity beyond airline allowance heavily limits what I could do with one of these 🤔

Does the power button on this version actually turn off power to the various ports? Was disappointed in a prior Smallrig battery as the power button only turned off the screen. Even when 'off", it kept feeding power to all the attached peripherals
