I remember being at Helsinki Airport waiting for a flight back to the UK to see my mum who was in the last couple of days of her life, and a volcano in Iceland erupted and all the flights in Northern Europe were canceled. I never got to hold my mum and tell her I love her one last time. I don't know what that has to do with anything. The music just put me in that place again.

Callum Mackay ( pronounced ‘Mac-eye’) died in a tragic accident and a friend who tried to save him also died. Here is an extract from the Coroner’s report: “ Coroner Dewi Pritchard-Jones said: "The decision to go swimming in the conditions that prevailed that day wasn't wise. "Although it wasn't difficult to go in the sea the problem was in getting out and the waves were such they were unable to get out safely. "I think Callum's enthusiasm was too much for him in that he decided he was going swimming. It wasn't a wise decision. "If he wasn't so enthusiastic he might not have jumped in. But he went in for the pleasure of swimming in such conditions and the fact he couldn't get out was a pure accident." Mr Pritchard-Jones added: "Lewis hadn't intended to go swimming but when he realised his friend was in difficulties he stripped off and in his underpants dived in to try to save his friend." The double inquest in Llangefni was told that Mr Darroch is to be nominated for a posthumous bravery award by the Carnegie Foundation. Mr Mackay's father Steven said the award was "absolutely" justified. He said: "We want to pay a huge tribute to Lewis Alan Darroch for his unstinting bravery in not even considering his own safety but just going in trying to rescue our son Callum. "Just by a quirk of fate, a tragedy has happened.”

Oh my god ok I'm totally broken now 💔 to lose 2 friends in such a tragic accident, to the water, such a short time after Joe - the pain he must've felt - no wonder he couldn't find the words. I lost my first friend to suicide by drowning when I was 16 and hearing these stories has bought up so many big feelings - I didn't think they could get any bigger but here we are 😭🖤
@Qalibrated8 ай бұрын
Very sad and unfortunate. That and Joe's passing, sheds a new light and adds a lot more impact to all his wordplay and metaphors involving the sea and water. "Ocean", "Heretic" and "Ready For You", to name a few.

I love the way you put your interpretation on that. We don't get instrumentals any more, and people don't listen to classical music much, so we don't often get the space to just listen (and put our own narrative on top). Thanks, Ray

Awww, Ray I hope you feel better & do take all time you need to rest 🙏 I would love for Ren to see your reaction to this & share his thoughts on your thoughts 💗 It shows you listen to a lot of instrumentals 😊👍 Without knowing the full story myself I was getting the same type of story threads that you were throughout the song. You can call this an ode or a sonnet or an homage. All three works in my opinion. And yes I too was getting Mozart vibes from this. Obviously Ren is a true lover of music. Very beautiful piece, very moving. And too soothing in a way. And finally: Ray, I would love for you to react to some of your favorite instrumentals 😃🙏 I love all genres of music. I remember every St. Paddy's Day tuning into the New York Riverdance Show they would show on tv & heck I thought was fire as a kid. The story they told through just music & dance alone was in my kid mind amazing. Every form of dance tells a story just as every piece of music does. That's why it has the power to bring so many together I think. Anyway, rambling! May you get better soon Ray 🙏 & may Mr. Mackay R.I.P. 🌹🙏💕 For those who knew him & loved him, he may be gone but he will never forgotten. Peace ✌, light 🌞, love 💖, & blessings 🙏 to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕

I never thought much about the scenery in the songs (other than being beautiful scenery) but now that you mention it and it being apart of his more emotionally intimate songs. It got me thinking that it is apart of the story as much as the song. Like with this song and For Joe there was a representation of the beauty of their relationship with the backgrounds while the songs dove into a deeper connection. I am probably 100% wrong and he just loves the scenery but i am now going to believe that that is the meaning behind the video locations even though i am most likely wrong.

Back Story reactions, react from the BACK...RELAX! Lol 🔥 interpretation my man. One of the greatest things about music is it speaks to each of us from our own experience and perspective. Great combo Raysicles reacting to Rensicles

Naw, He has emotion in every key stroke !! Sounds like a letter to his mate. played in the hills and nature so he will hear it !! The guy always told Ren how great he was and encouraged him all the way. Even him playing this ( where ever he is ) looks like the painted hills, Utah or Colorado maybe New Mexico ?? He is here in the States for this. I know he is moving to LA after his treatment and a visit home for a bit. Is his achievements and his hopes that he is doing what he was encouraged to do. And the end is still the melancholy of his absents.. Nice reaction bro, Get better !
