Star Wars Celebration 2025 is in Japan, so that's probably the reason. I don't care either way. As long as the stories are good.

I don't know. I like the different styles from other countries, but I don't mind if it mostly focus on japanese animation as it is the furthest away from classic star was animation. At least this year as SW celebration is in japan I'm 100% ok for that (would be cool if each time the hosting country was focused...) I hope to see one of those studio getting a full serie to do.
@Bluepuertorican56 күн бұрын
Personally, I just want a Ninth Jedi sequel- in addition to some of the other episodes from season one to get sequels- like the Village Bride. The second season was good, but personally it wasn’t super memorable. I always find myself rewatching Season 1 more than 2.
@playererror40445 күн бұрын
I liked the Village bride, but I couldn't help but think the Jedi in it was the biggest drama queen in the galaxy, like: you cover the bottom half of your face for a small scar? Really? (Ninth Jedi and the sith duel were the best though of that season and I would love to see more.)

I think he's just saying it seems like a step back in the sense that the show was meant to showcase different styles in the world of SW and is just rehashing a stylistic choice they have already done. Makes sense. My only support for it is that SW Celebration is in Japan, so it seems like the obvious smart business choice

Probably because most anime sucks these days and it would be better to get more of a variety. In my opinion they should just do more episodes to showcase more studios making more room for more Japanese and other countries to give things a try.

Anime ends up like videogames, a game who looks like it was made by aliens as they don't understand about the game serie they're making and only what they think they know which is by adding stuff that doesn't belong there. As for example adding Japanese culture in star wars is not star wars

I think this is the right choice for them, the general consensus among the community was that volume 1 was much better received than volume 2. I believe that the reason for that being that most of volume 2 used the same 2-3 story themes so it felt very repetitive. Personally I disagree with which shorts were best in volume 2 and the only standout episodes to me from volume 2 were studio Mira’s journey to the dark head (the best one) and the episode coming out of India’s 88 pictures since those 2 are the ones where the story felt the most thought through

@ the premise isn’t anything new, but it’s one of the few shorts where the characters felt real at all. Each one had their own motivations and acted in a way that fit well with the arcs that were going through, despite it only being a short. It doesn’t need to be some ground breaking premise if it’s done well.
@vaeros10836 күн бұрын
I’m actually really on board with this. I feel like the Japanese theme of the first one was kind of the appeal. It felt like it was not only doing something new, but also taking Star Wars back to the Japanese culture that inspired it in the first place.

I am of two minds of this situation, first off I enjoyed both seasons pretty equally, the different art styles of season 2 versus the similar nest of season 1, both had their unique Flair that I honestly could see coming back for either season the different animation styles of season 2 was fun to see, but the side of me that loves anime could not be happier to see it back :3 Who knows, maybe we'll get a season 4, and they'll go back to what they did in season 2.

Season 1 clears Season 2 in my opinion at least, I just hope we get some sequels to season 1 shorts because some of them deserve it because of the quality they put out, not all were bangers in either season sure and I see your point of "why limit to just one country" but japans animation styles can vary wildly, sure its not the rest of the globe but many of those stories were really good and at the end of the day thats whats more important

I didn’t bother to watch Season 2 of Visions because it didn’t interest me much (except the Afro-Japanese studio that made a short), but I’ll watch season 3. I loved the story of the twins from Season 1. The design of the boy reminded me of Lio Fotia from Promare. More of that please. More cute anime guys in Star Wars.

I'm just happy the first season has a chance to continue the stories told. Some of the first season had one and done stories, but most were just the beginning of a bigger thing As well as season 2 had just seemingly a short story that felt like it was a single episode wrap up. As the stories from both seasons find closure, more episodes from different studios could find a fitting

Hm, fair enough, personally when this Anthology Series first came out, i thought it being made by Japanese Anime Studios was supposed to be it’s main thing, something that Season 2 did disprove of course, but still. Anyway, I can understand where you’re coming from and if we get a Season 4, maybe it will be more diverse again. Regardless, I am just looking forward to what Japan has in store this time with Volume 3, hopefully they don’t disappoint and maybe we get some continuations for some of Volume 1’s Stories, maybe not, but I can hope, I am really curious about what happened next for those. Also, to be fair, Volume 1’s Art-Styles and Animations weren’t that similar to one another, there were some differences, at least.

I liked both season 1 & 2, so I'm not too disappointed we are going back to anime, especially if some of the returning studios do sequels. The thing about visions is, how exactly do you elevate it further? Season 1 went to Japan, while season 2 explored the whole world. After that its hard to reach new boundaries. If we ever get a 4th volume we should definitely visit more places in the world, but considering the previous season did that as a theme previously, I wouldn't mind taking a step back; especially considering a lot of the stuidios that worked on season 1 of visions really enjoyed it, and hoped to do more.

They should split it into two shows, it would both be watched. Have the season 2 style release one episode a month whole year long, 12 episodes total and rename it into "Star Wars Tales" and have "Star Wars Visions" be an anime thing. Everyone wins. They can be created side by side this way too.

On the other hand, please tell me they're going to acknowledge Multiverse Theory in a tale or two? Also, there any chance a tale or two is a Star Wars-y reinterpretation of familiar and well liked original anime? Might be nice to have Jedi youngling equivalents of Little Witch Academia characters (Studio Trigger), droid rebellion equivalent of the Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song plotline (Wit Studio), and perhaps a Revue Starlight Stage Girl musical adaptation of an obscure yet pretty awesome part of Star Wars Legends lore, of all places (Kinema Citrus).

The 3d just felt like something for like a kid. Clone wars is animated but you don’t feel like it’s for like a little kid. Plus the fights in season 1 were simply better the 2 with fighting with all the cool mercenaries and stormtroopers fighting as well,getting to see battle droids,the sith with twin lightsaber katanas,the 2 Jedi vs all of those sith it was all so insanely cool. Also LIGHTSABER KATANAS?!?! Which btw are definitely possible in Star Wars as the dark saber is a heavy lightsaber with an edge.

S2 quality was nowhere as good as S1, and most of the studio's for S3 are all legendary so this is great news Giving more ppl a chance is fine but as a viewer I'd rather just have the best production possible The episodes of S1 all had completely different styles so I'm not sure what you're talking about, and the storytelling was much better and fitting for star wars thanks to the anime writing conventions, S2 was a step back with so many of its episodes just being ok and many feeling more on the kiddy side
