You did an incredible job not only repairing the statue, but improving on the frog bowl too! Over the years I've had to repair items that have arrived damaged. It's obviously annoying to open a box and find the item staring up at you like a wounded soldier. But I must admit, there is a certain amount of pride that comes from fixing and sometimes even improving the item. I use Milliput all the time for fixing things and sculpting also. It's a bit messy, but it's a great product.

I'm quite envious of this project as it looks like it was a lot of fun to repair and repaint. The end result is simply stunning! You didn't add too much to the original model but what you did really made this look 100 times better than what Iron Studios presented.

Great restoration. Sorry it was damaged so badly. Great repair on Crumb too. Nice work on making Jabba look more vibrant and less pale. Jabba is often a high priced statue/figure, I hope they bring out more versions at lower prices in the future. Thanks.

Turned out really nice. Good job. I got a Wonder Woman Bombshells original statue for a song cuz it had a massive chip in the back of the hair and with a little two-part epoxy putty was able to fix it right up. Always great when you have the ability/knowhow/skill to save something from the bin where it might eventually end up cuz it got broken somewhere along the way. Again, very nice work sir, love the frogs!

Hello, love your collection and work!! I did repair the first release jabba from the 90s the large piece made of foam!!!
@BrynSmith762 жыл бұрын
It looks so much better. I've got a similar jigsaw to put together of a MrT ceramic money box I sold on eBay. The only difference was, I think I packed it perfectly but the courier I used did a bit of a Jim Carrey delivery at the start of Ace Ventura. It is still wrapped up from when I received it back in pieces so it will all still be in there. Your video has encouraged me to have a go at it. I might try and put some milliput on the inside first so I have something to support the pieces to stop them falling inside. Maybe I should do a better paint job on it too.

Whenever you do a 3d modeling video, I'm always so jealous of your painting skills! I don't do 3d modeling myself, but I have some kits for miniatures, and I'd be ecstatic if you did a more in-depth painting video (plus using milliput and stuff like that).

where you not tempted to foam back fill the base? ....so many different dry wall hole repair ideas also come to mind (creating a stable under structure to build on)
@MightyJabbasCollection2 жыл бұрын
Well I thought of using tape or something to make a structure to build on, but it didn’t really seem necessary in the end

I just recently bought this statue and it thankfully came intact. For starters I absolutely love the work you did on it, starting from the repair and replacements, especially redoing the frog bowl! Something so relatively easy, yet made it look so more accurate. It makes you think how easy the manufacturers could of done the same, but went the super cheap route just to make more profit. My main reason I'm writing is for some painting advice. I want to simulate as best as I can what you did with Jabba. I don't own an airbrush anymore and actually want to use basic brushes, so could you describe what paints I would need and the process you used with a bit more explanation? Thank you.
@MightyJabbasCollection2 жыл бұрын
If you want to just use a brush, you could try adding a brown wash over parts of the figure to see how that looks. I think it would help. It might be hard to replicate exactly what I did without using an airbrush, unless you want to totally repaint the figure.

you shouldve built the corner piece seperate and THEN glued it in place as one piece
@MightyJabbasCollection2 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind that it was very difficult to figure out where the pieces went. Some were missing or broken or otherwise wouldn’t fit well. I would have had no prayer of assembling it separately without the outer framework to work from
@smbcollector2 жыл бұрын
In addition to what @MightyJabbasCollection said, you also have to consider that this isn't a flat puzzle; the base's ceramic has a thickness to it that is curving around a corner, and is shattered in a way that doesn't always expose the bare ceramic on an outward slant. Thus, it would theoretically be possible to reconstruct the piece, but it would be impossible to slide it in.

Trust me, they wouldn't fit together. I tried. Part of the issue is probably that didn't get all of the pieces I did glue in the right places. But in any case, if I had tried to force all of the pieces in there it would've been much bumpier than it already was
