I`m very worried about the storm line with high winds tomorrow in central Louisiana. I have no car and live in a very rural area in a travel trailer. I do have a lot of batteries and an electric blanket but the power always fails when we get storms like this and often the phone/internet service does too.

Correct. Maybe a few snow showers and a dusting of snowfall accumulation at most. Heaviest snowfall is way further south.

I live in SE Kansas. The wind is straight out of the east. How is that when the system is moving west to east?

The airflow around a low pressure system is counter-clockwise. The low pressure is across the Panhandle of Oklahoma which means the winds on the northern side of the low pressure will be from east to west until the low pressure moves east of you, then the winds will move in from the northwest.

Hunter next week a Hard Freeze will hit Brownsville, Texas also they are to get down to 39 Degrees. The only place that will escape this is Way Southern California, Way Southern Arizona & way Southern Florida. This is Reminding of the Year of 1978 when I lived in Iowa it never ever got above 5 degrees from 2 Days after Christmas & lasted till the Middle of February it last close to 7 weeks there was no relief till the middle of February there was no warm fronts at all till February 1978.
